Health & Safety Survey

The Health & Safety Survey is a component of the NCAA Institutional Performance Program designed to help Division I and Division II institutions evaluate the organization and administration of athletics health care delivery. The survey collects information related to institutional health and safety policies, practices and resources that support student-athlete well-being.

Institutions should identify the individuals most familiar with their athletics health care operations and administrative practices to complete the survey. Completion time will vary based on institutional structure and data availability.

Once the survey closes, the NCAA research staff analyzes the results and makes them available through the Institutional Performance Program each summer. The survey data provides institutions with an opportunity to compare their health and safety practices with peer institutions and better understand established and emerging standards of care within college athletics.

The results are intended to support institutional self-assessment and continuous improvement. Through the IPP, institutions can review their data, identify areas of strength and evaluate opportunities to enhance the delivery of health and safety services for student-athletes.
