June Scholastic Basketball Events

June Scholastic Events permit NCAA Division I basketball coaches to attend and evaluate high school and two-year college prospective student-athletes as they compete with their scholastic teams outside of the regular scholastic season.

The June scholastic period gives scholastic events an opportunity to occur without competing with nonscholastic events. These events also provide more visibility for scholastic coaches to NCAA coaches, increasing the scholastic coach’s influence in the recruiting process.

June Scholastic Event Dates and Times

Per the “June Evaluation Periods” bylaw, NCAA Division I basketball coaches may attend
scholastic events certified/approved by the NCAA enforcement certification and approvals
group (ECAG), the National Federation of State High School Associations(NFHS), or the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).

Educational Resources

The NCAA encourages all June Scholastic Events to include education sessions focused on:

  • Minimizing the role of outside influences.
  • Addressing pressures involved in the recruiting process.
  • NCAA Division I rules that prospective student-athletes must follow.

Resources developed by the NCAA are available to help hosts and operators administer educational sessions.

Contact Angela Tressel with educational resource questions. Host associations must submit the name and contact information of their Educational Session Administrator to receive direct access to the materials.
