The NCAA office of legal affairs provides legal counsel to the Association, its governance committees and national office staff — advising on contract negotiation, policy drafting, rule-making and other requests for legal advice while also managing outside counsel and directing legal strategy. The legal affairs intern supports the office’s full range of service offerings across a broad set of subject matters, including contracts, subpoenas, discovery, regulatory matters, intellectual property enforcement and data privacy. This is a truly versatile role that builds bandwidth across multiple legal disciplines, providing exposure to the kinds of issues handled by the NCAA’s general counsel and associate general counsel.

Audience

College graduates with a bachelor’s degree from a four-year NCAA member institution who are interested in legal affairs, regulatory compliance, contract administration or collegiate athletics governance.

A full-time, in-person internship at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, supporting the legal affairs staff across a broad range of legal and regulatory matters impacting the Association.

Cost

Interns are paid hourly at a rate that equates to $33,000 annualized and receive full benefits. Applicants should plan for their own relocation costs to Indianapolis.
