The NCAA enforcement department investigates potential violations of Association legislation and processes those violations, sometimes bringing cases to hearing or resolving them on the written record. The department’s mission is to protect and sustain the NCAA’s enduring values through fair and efficient investigation and processing of cases. The enforcement intern supports staff in monitoring, investigating and processing violations of NCAA legislation — including reviewing self-reported Level III/secondary violations, researching case precedent, communicating with institutional representatives and providing case support to investigators on major Level I and II cases. Interns also attend monthly staff meetings, participate in mock hearings and observe a Committee on Infractions hearing during their year in the role.

College graduates with a bachelor’s degree from a four-year NCAA member institution who are interested in NCAA enforcement, compliance, investigations or sports law.

A full-time, in-person internship at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, supporting the enforcement staff in monitoring, investigating and processing violations of NCAA bylaws.

Time Commitment

A yearlong program running June 15, 2026 through May 28, 2027. Relocation to Indianapolis is required.

Compensation

Interns are paid hourly at a rate that equates to $33,000 annualized and receive full benefits. Applicants should plan for their own relocation costs to Indianapolis.
