The Division III LGBTQ Working Group , in consultation with Nevin Caple, co-founder and managing director of LGBT SportSafe, and Dr. Pat Griffin, professor emerita at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, developed the Division III LGBTQ OneTeam Program to promote LGBTQ inclusion in college athletics. The program uses trained peer facilitators to deliver educational workshops directly to Division III institutions and conferences.

Program Objectives
- Understand the NCAA and Division III’s involvement in LGBTQ inclusion efforts.
- Recognize the importance of LGBTQ inclusion in college athletics and learn common LGBTQ terms, definitions and concepts.
- Identify strategies and best practices for institutions and conferences to ensure all individuals may participate in an athletics climate of respect and inclusion, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
- Develop facilitation and presentation skills through peer-driven educational programming.
