A Longstanding Commitment to Service
The Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee established the division’s partnership with Make-A-Wish in 2003. The initiative gives Division II student-athletes, schools and conferences an opportunity to make an impact beyond competition by supporting children and families across the country.
Through fundraising and campus engagement, Division II members help create meaningful wish experiences that can bring hope, strength and joy to children facing critical illnesses.

How Division II Members Support Make-A-Wish
Division II schools and conferences support Make-A-Wish through campus fundraisers, conference initiatives, student-athlete engagement and community events. Schools that meet fundraising benchmarks may earn the opportunity to host wish experiences on campus.
These experiences can include wish reveal celebrations, send-off events or welcome-home moments for wish kids and their families. In 2024-25, 16 Division II schools earned the opportunity to host wish experiences.
2024-25 Fundraising Highlights
During the 2024-25 academic year, Division II raised nearly $270,000 for Make-A-Wish. This included $218,064 from member school and conference donations and $51,510 from Division II championships and enforcement fine allocations.
