The NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum is a four-day program designed to help student-athletes grow as leaders on their teams and campuses. Participants learn about their personal values, leadership styles and the role they play in creating a positive student-athlete experience.

Audience

Student-athletes, with selected coaches and administrators attending to elevate and enhance the overall program experience.

Format

This event is in-person only.

Time Commitment

This event is a four-day experience.

Cost

There is no cost to attend. The NCAA covers airfare or mileage, lodging, meals and shuttle transportation.

How values, identity and behavior shape leadership.

Communication

Effective communication and conflict management.

Teamwork

Working with others and building healthy team dynamics.

Knowledge

Issues that affect student-athletes across divisions.

Governance

NCAA governance and the role of SAAC.

Service

How service connects to leadership.

The forum is designed for student-athletes, with selected coaches and administrators attending to elevate and enhance the overall program experience.

Eligibility

Divisional Selection

  • Division I: Conferences nominate two student-athletes
  • Division II: Conferences nominate three student-athletes
  • Division III: Nominations are accepted from Region 4 institutions for 2025

Coaches and administrators who attend the forum are nominated through a separate process. For details, visit the Student-Athlete Leadership Forum Facilitators page.

Nominated student-athletes will receive an email directing them to Program Hub to complete their application.
