National Collegiate men’s volleyball bracket expanded

12 teams to compete for the championship

The National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship bracket will expand to 12 teams in 2026.

The format of the bracket will consist of four nonpredetermined regional sites with three teams competing at each site.

Two teams will compete on the first day of play at each regional site, with the third team at each site receiving a bye and competing against the winner in a regional final.

Winners from each of the regional sites will advance to compete at the finals site, which will be May 9-11 in Pauley Pavilion on the campus of UCLA.

"This is a significant day for the sport of men's volleyball," said Anthony Holloman, chair of the NCAA Men's Volleyball Committee and commissioner of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. "This expansion will enhance and strengthen our championship tournament now and in the future."

Previously, the National Collegiate Men's Volleyball Championship had a nine-team bracket.
