Hebert will work with the current NCAA secretary-rules editor for women's lacrosse, Stefanie Sparks Smith, whose term is expiring in August 2026, to help make a smooth transition into the position.

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel approved Hebert for the position last week.

"I am excited to join the NCAA in the role of secretary-rules editor for women's lacrosse," Hebert said. "During my time as a collegiate official, I found my 'people'; those who love the game and its history as much as I do. I am humbled to work alongside members of the lacrosse community to continue to grow the game and grateful to the NCAA for the opportunity."

Hebert has extensive experience in rules across all levels of the sport and writing rules books as the World Lacrosse rules interpreter. Her contributions to the sport led to her being inducted into the USA Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2023.

Currently, she is serving as the chair of the Collegiate Women's Lacrosse Officials Association Grievance Committee.

Hebert's NCAA experience includes over two decades as a nationally ranked NCAA women's lacrosse official.

She earned USA Lacrosse's Nancy Chance Service Award for significant service to women's lacrosse by an amateur member in 2007 and received the Distinguished National Service Award in 2011.

Away from the game, Hebert worked as an educator and administrator and recently retired as superintendent of the Ravenna School District in Ohio. Overall, Hebert spent 38 years in the education system as a teacher and administrator.
