100% NCAA: Meet Team USA men’s gymnastics squad

Olympics roster consists entirely of current or former NCAA student-athletes

Team USA's men's gymnastics roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics highlights the significant role of NCAA programs in shaping top-tier athletes. Every member of the team is either a current or former NCAA athlete, one of 14 Team USA rosters to be composed entirely of those with NCAA connections.

This group of gymnasts brings a wealth of experience and numerous NCAA championships to the international stage.

"I learned how to compete for something that's bigger than myself," Brody Malone said of his time as a college gymnast at Stanford. "When you put aside your own self and you're doing it for something bigger than yourself, that just makes you work harder."

Meet the team

  1. Asher Hong (Stanford).
  2. Paul Juda (Michigan).
  3. Brody Malone (Stanford).
  4. Stephen Nedoroscik (Penn State).
  5. Frederick Richard (Michigan).

NCAA connections

The Team USA men's gymnastics athletes have had outstanding careers at the NCAA level, combining for 24 NCAA team and individual titles. Brody Malone leads the group with 10 NCAA championships: three team, three bar, two all-around, one floor and one pommel horse. Only a sophomore in the 2023-24 season, Asher Hong already has a pair of team championships and four individual titles to his name. For Michigan, Paul Juda and Frederick Richard each earned three individual NCAA championships, while leading the Wolverines to consecutive runner-up finishes as a team. Stephen Nedoroscik won a pair of NCAA championships for Penn State.

Olympic experience

The 2024 Paris Olympics will mark Malone's second appearance at the Games. Returning from a major injury, he brings valuable experience and leadership to the team. Hong, Juda, Nedoroscik, and Richard will make their Olympic debuts, but their extensive international competition experience, including World Championships medals, has prepared them well for this global stage. Notably, Hong, Juda and Richard are 2023 World Championships team bronze medalists, while Richard also secured a bronze in the World all-around competition.
