The NCAA has named John Macrina, an industry leader with a distinguished career in technology strategy and innovation, as vice president and chief technology officer. With more than 25 years of experience, Macrina has made significant contributions to the technological advancements within global firms, showcasing his expertise in enterprise technology and digital transformation.
Macrina most recently served as senior vice president and global head of enterprise technology at TelevisaUnivision, where he was responsible for creating and delivering enterprise technology and data strategies. His work there led to successful organizational transformations, the development of new capabilities and increased efficiencies. Macrina also played a pivotal role in TelevisaUnivision's digital transformation, enabling technology for the digitization of revenue, corporate and broadcast/production functions.
Before his tenure at TelevisaUnivision, Macrina held key leadership positions at NBCUniversal and Bristol Myers Squibb. In these roles, he was instrumental in creating and executing critical information technology, enterprise data and enterprise architecture initiatives. His leadership was marked by strategic innovation, global delivery and adoption, and operational excellence.

Macrina's background as a Division I student-athlete enhances his understanding of the collegiate athletics environment. He is a former Big East Conference tennis student-athlete and Big East Academic All-Star at Seton Hall.
Macrina will begin with the NCAA on June 3.
