NCAA statement on gender equity assessment

"The findings of this assessment illustrate our commitment to advance gender equity at NCAA championships. Thanks to a collaborative spirit, significant accomplishments were achieved this past year. We have said it before – our work is not finished. Gender equity must remain a priority for leaders throughout college sports and we look forward to continuing to support these efforts moving forward."

– Mark Emmert, NCAA President

The NCAA hired an independent third party ("firm") to provide an assessment report in response to, and consistent with, Kaplan, Hecker & Fink recommendations for a real-time public gender assessment of the Men's and Women's NCAA Basketball Championships ("Kaplan" report). This report is made available pursuant to firm's engagement with the NCAA.

The Firm prepared the Report for the NCAA. The Report addresses only the issues identified by the Kaplan report, and is based solely on information obtained by the firm using the procedures specified by the NCAA or otherwise provided by or on behalf of the NCAA. The Report(s) is subject to many limitations and does not provide any form of assurance with respect to any of the information referred to therein.
