Foundations of Fundraising is a collaborative effort between the NCAA and the National Association of Athletic Development Directors designed to educate administrators who are interested in the field of development in intercollegiate athletics.
Foundations of Fundraising is a two-month commitment delivered virtually. Beginning in January, the cohort meets weekly from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Eastern time on Tuesdays for eight weeks (excluding January 12 due to the NCAA Convention). Learners who attend all eight sessions are eligible to receive a one-year NAADD membership and registration for the 2027 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics Convention in Orlando, Florida. Please note: Learners are responsible for travel, lodging, meals and incidental expenses associated with attending the NACDA Convention.

Foundations of Fundraising is offered at no cost to selected learners. Participants who attend all eight sessions receive a one-year NAADD membership and paid registration to the 202 NACDA Convention.
What you'll learn
Learners in the Foundations of Fundraising virtual course will walk away having an in-depth exposure and introduction into athletics development as a viable career path within college sports.
Participation in the two-month virtual program will provide essential career development to allow learners to thrive in their current roles while preparing them to obtain elevated positions in the industry.
Learners will also gain insight from development-centric leadership speakers scheduled in consultation with NAADD.
The 30 cohort members will have the opportunity to participate in an experiential class project that will promote active learning and implementation.
The eight-week hybrid learning course is created so that learners will view development/fundraising as a viable career option with great advancement opportunities.
Eligibility
Learners must be current administrators within an athletics department at an NCAA member school, conference office, affiliate organization or the NCAA national office. A bachelor’s degree is required.
