Division III Infractions Process

Division III InfractionsThe NCAA Division III infractions process begins with rules proposed, considered and adopted by the division’s members. These rules focus on eligibility, recruiting, academic performance, playing and practice seasons, and extra benefits.

As with enforcement in all three NCAA divisions, the infractions process aims to uphold integrity and fair play among our schools, and to prescribe appropriate and fair penalties if violations occur. The process is committed to the fairness of procedures and the timely and equitable resolution of infractions cases.

Achievement of these objectives is essential to the conduct of a viable and effective infractions process. Further, an important consideration in prescribing penalties is to provide fairness to uninvolved student-athletes, coaches, administrators, competitors and other institutions.

Infractions cases at the Division III level are infrequent; however, when they do occur, all representatives of member schools are expected to cooperate fully with the NCAA enforcement staff, Division III Committee on Infractions and Division III Infractions Appeals Committee.
