Submitting International Documents

International college-bound student-athletes must submit certified academic records to the NCAA Eligibility Center. Use the steps below to confirm what documents are required and how they must be submitted.

Document submission process

  1. Gather required documents
Transcripts/grade reports, mark sheets, graduation credentials and exam results.
  2. Confirm who can submit
Documents must be sent by approved sources (schools/issuing offices or recruiting institutions).
  3. Provide certified translations (if required)
Line-by-line English translations are required for non-English documents.
  4. Submit using an approved option
Direct upload (recommended), email, or mail/express delivery.

Important: The NCAA Eligibility Center cannot return submitted documents. Submit certified copies only.

Include the student’s name and NCAA ID number on every submitted item.

Step 1: Gather required academic documents

Required academic records for international student-athletes typically include:

  • Transcripts or yearly grade reports
  • Mark sheets
  • Graduation credentials
  • Official leaving exam results or other academic documents

For country-specific documentation guidance, refer to the NCAA Guide to International Academic Standards for Athletics Eligibility .

Step 2: Confirm documents are sent by an approved source

Approved submission sources

High schools and ministry/issuing offices

International high schools and ministry/issuing offices may email official academic records for use in academic certifications to ec-processing@ncaa.org. Students with questions should use the International Contact Form.

  • Certified documents must be emailed from a school or official email address.
  • Emails from general providers (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) cannot be accepted.
  • Include the student’s name and NCAA ID number.
NCAA school recruiting you

Contact the compliance office of the recruiting school for information on their submission process.

  • All submitted documents must include the student’s name and NCAA ID number.

Documents that cannot be accepted

  • Academic records submitted directly by a student, family member or other third-party advisor (domestic or international)
  • Photocopies of documents sent by a third-party
  • Documents sent by athletics department staff or coaches
  • Password-protected PDFs

Step 3: Provide certified English translations (if required)

If English is not the primary language of instruction at the school you attended, provide a certified line-by-line English translation for each native-language document.

Translation options

  • A professor of the language at the NCAA school recruiting you may provide a line-by-line translation with a signed cover letter (on school letterhead) stating the professor’s role at the school.
  • If not available, ask your school for certified copies of your documents and have a qualified translator create word-for-word, line-by-line translations.

Translator documentation must include

  • Appropriate stamps or seals explaining the translator’s qualifications
  • The translator’s full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address (or other means to verify authenticity)
  • Please note: The translator may not be related to the student

Best practice is that certified copies and translations are submitted by the admissions or registrar’s office of the school recruiting you via upload to the student’s Eligibility Center account. The NCAA Eligibility Center does not accept translations made or sent by any non-NCAA college or university.

  • Include the student’s name and NCAA ID number on all submitted documents.

Direct upload (recommended)

Direct upload to the student’s NCAA Eligibility Center account is available only to NCAA member universities and colleges and approved domestic high schools.

  • Best practice: documents are immediately attached to the student’s account upon upload.
  • Upload documents as a PDF when possible.
  • Please note: Apple’s high-resolution attachment extension is not supported by the system.
  • Password-protected PDFs cannot be accepted.

Email

Email is available only to international high schools, ministry/issuing offices and issuing bodies, and translation services. Send to ec-processing@ncaa.org and include the student’s name and NCAA ID number in the subject line.
