The NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy provides current, full-time intercollegiate men’s and women’s basketball coaches at NCAA member institutions an opportunity to expand their knowledge and insight into the college basketball coaching profession. The academy focuses on elevating participants’ ability to lead successful programs while supporting the holistic well-being and development of student-athletes.
Throughout the academy, selected participants engage in interactive sessions with industry experts and peers that emphasize both on-court coaching and off-the-court leadership responsibilities.

What you'll learn
Academy sessions are designed to enhance your ability to serve as an effective coach and leader of student-athletes on and off the court. Topic areas may include:
- Effective communication with campus, conference and community stakeholders
- Building and sustaining a culture of excellence focused on the overall success of student-athletes
- Navigating and winning the head coaching interview process
- Operating as the CEO of your program, including staff, resource and program management
- On-court coaching strategies and practice planning
- Personal and professional well-being while managing the demands of the coaching profession
Eligibility
Current full-time assistant coaches of both men’s and women’s basketball at NCAA member institutions are eligible to apply.
Cost
Participants are responsible for the cost of travel to and from Indianapolis for the academy. The NCAA covers lodging, meals and program materials.
