Directors of Athletics -- Eastern Nazarene College Athletic Director Dr. Nancy Detwiler will retire at the end of this academic year, completing a 52-year career that blazed new trails in college athletics. The first female athletic director of a co-ed New England college – and one of the first in the nation – Detwiler amassed an impressive record as an Athletic Director and a coach. She served as ENC’s head women’s volleyball coach for 21 years, coaching her teams to six NAIA National Tournaments and earning NAIA District V Coach of the Year honors four times. For her efforts, she was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame, with a career record of 505-179. She also coached women’s basketball at ENC for 13 seasons, compiling more than 75 victories, and served as head women’s tennis coach for two seasons … Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullens, who Forbes magazine recently called “the man behind the Decade of the Ducks,” will stay with UO through October 2019 under a new five-year contract agreement. Mullens has presided over one of the most successful eras in the University of Oregon’s history, with Duck student-athletes setting records both on the field and in the classroom. He has guided Oregon to the top 15 nationally in the Directors’ Cup, a national assessment of an athletic department’s overall achievements. At the same time, Mullens has improved the Ducks’ academic standards so that the university now averages more than 100 academic all-conference selections annually … Arkansas State Athletics Director Terry Mohajir has been awarded a new four-year contract through June 30, 2019, in recognition of his leadership and accomplishments. Mohajir joined A-State in September 2012, and since that time the Red Wolves have enjoyed unprecedented overall success academically, competitively and financially. Last year, A-State enjoyed its highest ever finish in the prestigious Learfield Sports Director’s Cup standings, ranking No. 1 in the Sun Belt Conference and No. 83 in the nation among 297 schools. The Red Wolves’ finish not only set a school record, it topped the program’s previous high of No. 134 set in 1999-2000 by 51 places. The women’s athletics program claimed its highest finish ever in the Capital One Cup standings, earning a prestigious top-50 award for ranking No. 44 among all NCAA Division I programs in the nation. The No. 44 ranking was the highest ever by a Sun Belt Conference women’s program … Jackson State announced that Athletic Director Vivian Fuller has accepted the post of associate vice provost for student affairs. This academic year, JSU led the Southwest Athletic Conference with the number of student-athletes maintaining a 3.0-plus GPA while competing in their respective sports. Robert Walker, who has previously served as interim athletic director, will again serve as interim effective March 1 … Michael Cross is resigning as the director of athletics at Bradley. Cross became the director of athletics at the school in January of 2010. Cross’ tenure emphasized core values of accountability, courage, diligence, integrity and respect and included numerous accomplishments across all sports as well as the academic, branding, and licensing areas of Bradley athletics.
Associate Athletics Directors -- USF tannounced that longtime collegiate football coach Dick Tomey is joining the Bulls’ athletics department as an associate athletic director for sports administration. Tomey, who compiled 183 wins in 29 years as a collegiate head coach, will serve on the athletic department senior staff reporting directly to the director of athletics. He will have administrative oversight of the Bulls' football program when he begins. Tomey ended his football coaching career in 2011 after returning to serve as special teams coach at Hawaii. He began his head-coaching career at Hawaii in 1977 and went on to lead the Warriors program for 10 seasons (1977-1986), earning Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year Honors in 1981 and compiling a record of 63-46-3 … Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Greg Glaus has been promoted to the position of associate athletic director for academic and compliance services, at Kent State. Glaus started his career at Kent State in 2006 as a college office academic advising graduate assistant. In 2007, he started full-time as the primary athletic academic counselor for the football, baseball, volleyball and men's golf teams. During his tenure in academic services, Glaus worked his way up to be the assistant director of academic services and in 2010 he made the transition into NCAA compliance as the assistant director for compliance. In 2012, Glaus was then promoted to assistant athletic director for compliance … Portland State hired Tygue Howland as the new associate athletics director for external operations. Howland rejoins the Portland State athletics staff after a brief stint working in development for Oregon State. From 2011-14, Howland had worked in Viking athletics, most recently as assistant director of development. As PSU's newest associate AD, Howland is now responsible for all department development, fund-raising, donor relations, sponsorships, marketing, ticketing and external affairs.
Assistant Athletics Directors -- Carol R. Hudson, Jr., Old Dominion’s assistant athletic communications director and sports information director since 1984, will retire from the university in June. Hudson has been a virtual fixture at ODU for over 43 years, beginning as a student manager for the Monarchs’ baseball and basketball teams from 1972-76. He was a graduate intern in the sports information office under the late Joe Law, the university's first full-time sports information director from 1976-78. As the SID, he has served as the primary media liaison for men’s basketball, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf and baseball, while providing oversight and leadership for the public relations needs of all 18 intercollegiate sports. Hudson was named SID at ODU in 1984 following a three-year stint as SID at Hampton and promoted to assistant athletic director in 2011. He was enshrined in the College Sports Information Directors of America Hall of Fame in 2010, and recognized with a Distinguished Service Award from the Virginia SID organization in 2013. That same year, the media room in the Ted Constant Convocation Center was named in his honor.
Development -- Cal Poly Pomona hired Paul Bubb as the intercollegiate athletics' director of development. A veteran athletic administrator, Bubb most recently worked at the Division I level when he served as Murray State's associate athletic director for external affairs from 2008 through 2014. As an experienced fundraiser, Bubb has been involved with major gift and capital campaigns along with overseeing annual giving programs and special event fundraisers.
Conferences
Assistant commissioners – The Ohio Valley Conference hired Scott Krapf as assistant commissioner for championships. Krapf, who graduated from Indiana Law
School, joins the OVC after most recently serving as a judicial law clerk with the Indiana Superior and Circuit courts (August 2014 through January 2015). Prior to his judicial clerkship, Krapf worked as a law clerk in the NCAA Office of Legal Affairs (August 2013 through May 2014). He has also held positions at USA Track and Field, Indiana University and IUPUI … The Patriot League hired Kevan Donovan as its new director for compliance and sport management. Donovan will serve as the primary compliance officer for the League office and a contributing member of the sports management and governance team. He will also work as the Patriot League's administrative contact with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Coaches
Football -- Oregon Head Football Coach Mark Helfrich, who took the Ducks to the College Football Playoff Championship, has agreed to a new contract that will retain the coach through the 2019 season.
Football Assistants -- Albright announced the addition of Dennis Iezzi to the football coaching staff. Iezzi will coach the Albright defensive line and is a graduate of Albright. With over 40 years of experience coaching college and high school football, Iezzi comes to Albright after serving as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in 2013 and 2014 … Albright announced the additions of Keith Bruno to the football coaching staff. Bruno will work with the Lions cornerbacks and is a graduate of Albright. Bruno, who spent four seasons playing for Albright, returns to Reading after spending the last two years as an assistant coach at McDaniel College.
Men’s ice Hockey -- The Trinity (Connecticut) men's ice hockey team promoted third-year assistant coach Peter Roundy to associate head coach. Roundy will continue to serve as both recruiting and video coordinator, coach the defensemen, and direct the penalty killing units.
Women’s Lacrosse -- Carthage has named Lauren Hein as the school’s new head women’s lacrosse coach. Hein, the former Lauren Chatham, had a three-year playing career with the Lady Reds from 2012 to 2014. A native of Hartland, Wisconsin, she was named Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association first-team All-Great Lakes Region and Midwest Women’s Lacrosse Conference “Offensive Player of the Year” in 2013, first-team all-conference in 2014 and MWLC all-academic three times between 2012 and 2014. She graduated from Carthage in 2014 with a bachelor’s in communication.
Women’s Soccer -- After two seasons at the helm of the Dominican (California) women's soccer team, Tara Koleski is resigning. … Howard Payne hired former American Southwest Conference Co-Coach of the Year Tatenda Chieza as the new Lady Jacket women’s soccer head coach. Tatenda Chieza comes to Howard Payne from Austin, Texas where he served as head soccer coach for the Austin Texans and Lonestar soccer club over the past two years. Chieza was named the ASC Co-Coach of the Year after leading the Tornados to their best season ever in his first year on the sidelines. The team, which had never won more than five matches overall and three in conference play before his arrival, set program records by winning six matches overall and six in league action.
Men’s Tennis -- Michael Dowd has been named head coach for Sarah Lawrence men's tennis program. Before coming to SLC, Dowd was the head coach of women's tennis at Penn for 12 years. There, he led Penn to its first-ever Ivy League Championship in 2001 and repeated as title-winners in '02 and '07. Dowd's Quakers also earned two NCAA tournament at-large bids (2003 and '06) and won three matches in Division I Championship competition.
Women’s volleyball -- Sarah Graves has been hired as Denison's head volleyball coach and associate professor of physical education. Graves comes to Denison after six seasons as an assistant coach at Macalester (Minnesota). Graves takes over the head coaching duties of a Denison volleyball program that has averaged 18.7 victories over the last three seasons. She becomes the sixth coach in program history.
Women’s volleyball assistants -- Jorge Rodriguez has been hired as assistant men’s volleyball coach at NJCU.
Deaths -- Hall of Fame coach Jerry Tarkanian, who built a basketball dynasty at UNLV but was defined more by his decades-long battle with the NCAA, died February 11, after several years of health issues. He was 84. The towel-chewing “Tark the Shark’ put the run in the Runnin' Rebels, taking them to four Final Fours and winning a national championship in 1990 with one of the most dominant college teams ever. Tarkanian was an innovator who preached defense yet loved to watch his teams run. His first Final Four team in 1976-77 scored more than 100 points in 23 games in an era before both the shot clock and the 3-point shot.

Directors of Athletics -- Columbia has appointed Peter E. Pilling as the university’s new director of intercollegiate athletics and physical education. Currently a vice president at IMG College, Pilling has served as a senior associate athletic director at several of the most respected college sports programs in the country, including at Villanova and Brigham Young universities. Pilling will immediately address the university priority of ensuring that the same high standard of competitiveness extends to Columbia football. His first responsibility will be to lead the search for a new head football coach, a task in which he is already fully engaged … Amy Henkelman has been named acting director of athletics at Dominican University of California. Henkelman, who currently serves as associate director of athletics and compliance officer, replaces Brandon Leimbach. Prior to joining CSM, Henkelman held a number of positions over the span of eight years at Indiana University South Bend, including assistant director of athletics and interim director of athletics. Since joining Dominican, Henkelman has supervised Dominican's 11 intercollegiate sports programs and directed the day-to-day operations of the university's athletics and recreational facilities … Agnes Scott has announced that Beth Vansant, who has served as the assistant director of athletics, has been named as the interim director of athletics. Vansant will oversee the daily operations of the athletics program, creating programs, resources and services that support the development of students as leaders and scholar-athletes. Additionally, she will provide key leadership in the management of the intercollegiate athletics programs, physical education program, and facilities rentals and community membership programs … Werner Roseboom, a 1993 Saint Benedict alumna, has been hired as the school's next athletic director. For the past two years, Roseboom served as assistant general manager at VillaSport Athletic Club & Spa, a luxury spa in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She oversaw the management team, dealt with building repairs and developed quarterly strategic plans and oversaw a $10 million annual budget at the 12,000-member facility … Delaware State has announced that it has appointed Louis B. “Skip” Perkins, Jr., as the interim associate vice president and athletics director. Perkins comes to DSU after serving as the director of intercollegiate athletics at Howard from 2010 to 2014, a post in which he oversaw 19 varsity sports programs that had more than 400 student-athletes. Under his leadership at Howard, a new academic support center was established, which resulted in an overall cumulative GPA of student-athletes that was above 3.0 over the last two school years (2012-13 and 2013-14). Perkins also oversaw the $10 million renovation of Howard’s Burr Gymnasium, as well as the installation of a synthetic turf system for Greene Stadium … Robert M. Goodhue, University of Massachusetts Foundation chief operating officer and general counsel, will serve as interim director of athletics. Goodhue has served the university in a variety of volunteer and professional capacities. As a volunteer, Goodhue was general counsel to the UMass Amherst Alumni Association and served as its vice president and president. He was the driving force behind the University of Massachusetts Club in Boston, and with head coach Mark Whipple he founded Friends of UMass Football in 2002. He has served on the UMass Amherst Athletic Council and the UMass Amherst Athletic Hall of Fame Committee since 1999.
Associate Athletics Directors -- Amy Millstone, who served as the communications manager for Time Warner Cable Sports for the past three years, has been hired as the new associate athletic director, strategic communications at Cal State Northridge. With Time Warner Cable Sports, Millstone was responsible for the communications during the launch of TWC SportsNet and TWC Deportes, as well as the networks’ programming announcements. She also handled programming communications for SportsNet LA, the regional sports network of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and for Time Warner Cable SportsChannels across the country, whose partners included Syracuse, Kansas, the Mid-American Conference, the Carolina Panthers and more … The Maryland athletics department announced that Don Miller, who has been involved with the university in a myriad of different capacities for the past 15 years, is rejoining Maryland athletics as its senior associate athletic director of development. Miller originally joined Maryland in 2004 as its senior director of major gifts and transitioned into the role of assistant athletic director for development from 2006-2011. During his tenure, Miller identified, cultivated and secured four $1,000,000 gifts for facilities improvements and scholarship support for our athletic programs.
Coaches
Baseball Assistants -- Todd Alford, who has 25 years of baseball coaching experience, has been hired to join the Tufts staff. For the past two years, Alford has been the owner and operator of Elite Performance in Rochester, New York. He is the lead instructor for the pitching, hitting, fielding, and catching lessons as well as manager of the Elite Performance teams. Additionally, Alford has 11 years of coaching experience at the college level. He spent eight years as a Division 1 junior college coach where he won three NJCAA Coach of the Year awards.
Football -- Michael Whalen, who returned to his alma mater as head football coach and associate athletics director in 2010, has stepped down as head football coach of Wesleyan to devote his full attention to his post as athletics director. He assumed that position in July 2012. Dan DiCenzo, who has been associate head football coach and defensive coordinator at Wesleyan the last five years, is taking over the head coaching position, succeeding Whalen. Over his five years as Wesleyan football mentor, Whalen compiled a solid 26-14 record for a .650 winning percentage. His Cardinal squads of 2013 and 2014 went 7-1 while winning the Little Three crown and sharing the NESCAC title in 2013. Combined with his six seasons as head football coach at Little Three rival Williams College (38-10 from 2004-09), Whalen has a lofty 64-24 record (.727) over 11 years.
Football Assistants -- UTSA announced that Tony Jeffery will return to the program as an assistant coach, where he will tutor the program's receivers. Jeffery was originally hired on Jan. 27, 2010, to coach the Roadrunners' receivers, and the Houston native was a member of the staff during the practice year and first three seasons before leaving to take an assistant coaching position at Houston. During his one year with the Cougars as outside receivers coach in 2014, his position group combined for 1,299 yards and seven touchdowns on 100 receptions … Al Borges and Dan Ferrigno, who combined have more than 60 years of college football coaching experience, are joining the San José State staff. Borges will be the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. Ferrigno will be the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach. The 2015 season will mark the sixth season the two successful veteran coaches are in coordinating roles on the same staff. Borges and Ferrigno coached together at San Diego State (2009 and 2010) and at Michigan (2011-2013). For Borges, he also is working again with the Spartans’ head coach now in his third season at San José State. Caragher was a UCLA assistant coach during Borges’ five seasons with the Bruins. Overall, the Spartans’ new offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach has 27 seasons of major college experience at eight current Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) schools.
Deaths -- The Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse program and members of the university community are mourning the loss of freshman defenseman Jeremy Huber. Huber died in his room on campus on the night of January 25, 2015. A native of Las Vegas, Huber was the salutatorian of his graduating class at West Career and Technical High School. He was a four-time all-state selection in lacrosse and helped the team win a pair of state championships. Huber was enrolled in Johns Hopkins' Krieger School of Arts and Sciences and was interested in majoring in cognitive science … Dean Smith, the coaching innovator who won two national championships at North Carolina, an Olympic gold medal in 1976 and induction into basketball's Hall of Fame more than a decade before he left the bench, died February 7, 2015. He was 83. Smith, whose UNC teams won 13 ACC tournament championships and two NCAA titles, received many awards and accolades. He is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. He was selected national coach of the year four times and named the ACC coach of the year eight times. In 2013, Smith was given the Presidential Medal of Freedom – the nation’s highest civilian award – by President Barack Obama, although Smith was unable to attend the ceremony in Washington, D.C. He guided North Carolina to 11 Final Fours, won 879 games, and graduated more than 96 percent of his players.

Presidents and chancellors – Thomas J. Minar, vice president of development and alumni relations for American University, will become the 16th president of Franklin College, effective July 1, 2015. Minar has served American as vice president of development and alumni relations since 2008. During his tenure, he was involved in strategic planning, alumni engagement, fund development, student recruitment and faculty collaboration. His work led to the successful closure of the ANewAU campaign which achieved $214 million, and gifts and pledges nearly doubled in his first five years at the institution. New programs for alumni engagement increased participation in alumni programs fivefold and created the new, 600-volunteer Alumni Admissions Volunteer Program, which last year engaged more than 5,000 prospective undergraduate students.
Directors of Athletics –Portland State hired Mark Rountree as director of athletics. Rountree comes to his new position from Miami (Ohio) where he was the deputy athletics director. He took over the leadership of the Portland State athletics program on Jan. 20 … Nancy Latimore, who has held the position of director of athletics at Elizabethtown since 1995, will retire in June following 20 years of service to the college. During Latimore's tenure, Elizabethtown reintroduced the sport of men's track and field, while adding women's track and field at the turn of the new millennium. The college increased its varsity athletic program offering to 22 when men's and women's lacrosse were added in 2002 … West Virginia native and current Deputy Director of Athletics at Alabama Shane Lyons, was named director of intercollegiate athletics and associate vice president at West Virginia, effective in February. Lyons has nearly 30 years of administrative experience in intercollegiate athletics and has been involved with extensive knowledge in strategic planning, compliance and policy implementation at the conference and national levels … Derrick Burroughs was hired as both the football coach and athletic director. Burroughs served as Lane's athletic director in 2010 and 2011 and coached the football team from 2010 to 2013, improving the team's win total in each of the later three seasons … Howard named Shelley Davis interim director of intercollegiate athletics while launching a search for a permanent successor. Davis joined Howard in July 2011 as the senior associate athletic director and Senior Woman Administrator. She served as a member of the senior leadership team and was responsible for the administration of the internal operations of the 19 intercollegiate sports, 40 staff members & coaches and 375 student athletes who make up the department. Davis succeeds Louis “Skip” Perkins as Athletic Director. Perkins is leaving to pursue other professional endeavors … Incarnate Word promote Mark Papich from director of athletics to director of marketing and development for student life & athletics and promoted John Williams to the director of athletics role.Papich started at the school in 1995 as an assistant volleyball coach before taking the head coach role in 1996. He served as the head coach for seven seasons accumulating a 124-124 record that included a conference and NAIA regional title in 1997. Williams joined the staff in the summer of 2014 and has been working extensively on a strategic plan for the athletic department. Prior to that, Williams was a director of championships and alliances for the NCAA for 10 years. He was a member of the executive team and he established a strategic plan and created better business practices for the group. He served as the Director of Division III Championships … Illinois Wesleyan Athletic Director Dennie Bridges, whose association with the school dates back to enrolling as a freshman in 1957, announced he will retire on July 31 the end of his current contract with the University. Bridges, 76, took over as athletic director in 1981 and served a dual role as men's basketball coach and athletic director until 2001 … Stonehill named Senior Associate Director of Athletics Cindy MacDonald interim director of intercollegiate athletics until a search for a new director is completed. MacDonald, who was inducted to the Stonehill Athletics Hall of Fame in 2012, has served the college’s athletic department and its student-athletes for over 20 years, wearing numerous hats along the way. She was hired as the College’s head athletic trainer in September 1991, a position she held for five years before being promoted to assistant athletic director for sports medicine in 1996. MacDonald moved strictly into an administrative role as assistant athletic director and compliance coordinator in 1998 before being named associate director of athletics in 2001 and then senior associate AD in 2003 … Mike Alden announced he will resign as the director of athletics at Missouri on Aug. 31. He will stay at the university as an instructor in the College of Education where he will participate in the Positive Coaching Program and higher education leadership courses … John McCutcheon has been hired as director of intercollegiate athletics at UC Santa Barbara. McCutcheon has held the same position at Massachusetts for the past 11 years. He will begin his tenure at UCSB on March 2 … Gary Hall announced that after 25 years, he will step down as director of athletics at Barton. Hall plans to transition to a new role as athletic campaign coordinator within the college's Office of Advancement. Barton expanded from nine to 18 intercollegiate teams and made the move from NAIA to NCAA Division II during Hall's tenure as AD … Florida A&M appointed E. D’Wayne Robinson interim director of intercollegiate athletics, replacing former interim director Nelson Townsend. Robinson was serving as Florida A&M associate athletic director for NCAA Compliance prior to his appointment … Matt Land, who has served as head football coach since 2006 and athletic director since 2012, has accepted the new role of assistant vice president for athletics. In this new administrative role, Land teams with other campus officers to coordinate all facets of the athletics program. These collaborative efforts include recruitment and retention of student-athletes, and fundraising, program development and day-to-day leadership for athletics.
Associate athletics directors -- Providence hired Ashlee Magosin as associate athletic director for business. Magosin replaces Marcus Blossom, who was named associate athletics director for business and administrative operations at Boston College. Magosin most recently worked at the Maryland. She joined the Terps' staff in 2010 as assistant business manager and was promoted to business manager in March of 2011. At Maryland, Magosin was responsible for the daily operations of the business office, including budget management, procurement, purchasing and several special projects. Prior to taking the position at Maryland, Magosin was employed at Duke, where she worked in the athletics business office from 2007-2010 and served as assistant director of business operations … Maryland announced today that Joe Foley has been named deputy athletics director, intercollegiate athletics development. Foley brings more than a decade of experience into his new role in College Park. He has held senior level fundraising positions most recently at Boston College and Ohio University. At Maryland, Foley will serve as athletics’ head fundraiser, unit manager and chief strategist. As a senior staff member of the athletics department, Foley will collaborate with University Relations and other campus constituents on university capital campaign planning, future projects and all other fundraising initiatives. In addition, he will oversee all philanthropic giving for athletics through a wide range of initiatives and he will also oversee all aspects of planning, implementation and execution of intercollegiate athletics fundraising and alumni relations programs … South Florida named Mark Muhlhauser to the position of senior associate athletics director and associate vice president for development. Muhlhauser comes to USF after serving the last five years as associate athletic director at Northern Illinois following prior development positions at Penn State and at Washington. He brings 14 years of experience working in development and external relations within intercollegiate athletic departments at the Division I level … Eastern Michigan named Jennifer Brown associate athletics director for sports medicine. In her role, Brown will be responsible for the daily sports medicine operation for EMU's 21 varsity sports programs. She will supervise four assistant athletic trainers, numerous graduate and student athletic trainers, and also have primary responsibilities with the school's football team … Abilene Christian hired Dave Kinard as the associate director of athletics for external operations, effective Feb. 9. Kinard joins the department of athletics from Boise State where he was the associate athletic director and executive director of the Bronco Athletic Association from 2012-14. While at Boise State, he directly supervised and coordinated the activities of the BAA and ticket office, a 40-person board of directors and all fundraising, sales and donor / customer experience …
Assistant athletics directors -- Rutgers named Kevin Lorincz interim director of athletic communications. Lorincz also serves as the school’s primary media contact for men’s basketball and the men’s and women’s golf teams in his role as assistant director of athletics-communications. He will now oversee athletic communications for all 24 sports in his interim role. Lorincz has been at Rutgers since 2007 … Miami (Ohio) announced that Lisa Miller has been promoted to assistant athletics director for compliance. Miller, who was previously the director of compliance at Miami, began her career for the RedHawks back in April, 2013 … Adelphi promoted Garrett Chapman to assistant athletic director for business operations. Chapman joined the department in 2009, serving as business manager for the past four years. Chapman will continue to oversee the athletic department's collective budgets on a daily basis, and provide the administration with financial information … The Ohio athletics department named Raymond Dixson as assistant athletic director for ticket operations. A nine-year veteran of the sports industry at the NCAA Division I level, Dixson has spent the last four years in the hospitality and entertainment industry … Fordham promoted Andrew Smith from director of compliance to assistant athletic director for compliance.

Baseball – Southern New Hampshire baseball coach Scott Loiseau announced his resignation to accept a position as an assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at Oklahoma. Current assistant coaches Pat Austin and Chris Shank will serve as interim co-head coaches for the upcoming 2015 season, with the university conducting a national search for a permanent replacement following the season.
Baseball assistants – Zach Carlino named assistant baseball coach at Mount Olive.
Women’s basektball – DePaul women's basketball coach Doug Bruno signed a contract extension through the 2019-20 season. Bruno, who has guided the program to 12 consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, is currently in his 29th season on the bench at his alma mater.
Field hockey – Lindsay Jackson has been named the new head coach of the field hockey program at Holy Cross. Jackson, who is the fifth head coach in program history, comes to Holy Cross from Limestone where she served as the head coach since 2008.
Football -- Colorado School of Mines hired former New Mexico State offensive coordinator/quarterback coach Gregg Brandon as head coach of the university's 126-year old football program. Brandon becomes only the sixth head coach to walk the sidelines since 1937 … Jim Harbaugh was named the 20th coach in Michigan football history. He becomes the sixth former Michigan football player to be named the leader of college football's winningest program. Harbaugh comes to Ann Arbor after an impressive four-year run in the National Football League with the San Francisco 49ers. He led the franchise to the NFC Championship Game in each of his first three seasons, winning the George Halas Trophy as NFC champions in 2012. Harbaugh tallied a 49-22-1 overall record that included a 5-3 mark in the postseason as 49ers head coach … Florida A&M hired Alex Wood as its 17th head football coach. Wood has more than 35 years of coaching experience at the high school, collegiate and professional levels. Prior to accepting the top job at FAMU, Wood served as offensive coordinator at Buffalo from 2011-14 … Florida State gave Jimbo Fisher a new, eight-year contract that runs through the 2022 season. The deal includes a salary increase that will make Fisher one of the highest-paid coaches in the country … After his first two seasons as head football coach gave Northwestern State its best two-year performance in a decade, Jay Thomas had two years added to his contract. Thomas' contract will be extended, at the same salary, through February 2018 … Pat Narduzzi was named the new head coach at Pittsburgh. Narduzzi grew up 70 miles from Pittsburgh in Youngstown, Ohio, has spent the past eight years orchestrating Michigan State's defense. Under his direction, the Spartans are the only team to rank in the nation's top 10 in total defense and rushing defense each season from 2011-14 … North Dakota State’s Chris Klieman accepted a two-year contract extension that will keep him with the Bison until January 2021. Klieman's recently completed first season ended with a 15-1 record, a fourth straight Missouri Valley Football Conference championship and an unprecedented fourth straight NCAA Division I FCS national championship.
Rowing assistants – Holy Cross named 2013 graduate Catherin Roy an assistant women's rowing coach.
Men’s soccer – Jeremy Bonomo was hired as the head coach of the Green Bay men’s soccer program. Bonomo, who most recently served as a top assistant at Cincinnati from 2010-2014, brings five years of coaching experience as an assistant coach at the Division I level and three years as a head coach at the Division II level … Kylie Stannard, who helped guide Michigan State to the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament as the associate head coach this fall, has been named the men's soccer coach at Yale. Stannard spent six years at Michigan State …
Women’s soccer – Mike Dibbini, a former standout player and highly-successful coach at Kansas Wesleyan who has most recently rebuilt Cal Poly Pomona into an NCAA Division II championship contender, has been named Kansas State's first intercollegiate women's soccer coach. At each of his coaching stints at the NAIA and Division II levels, Dibbini has built winning programs. He is a 12-time conference coach of the year who led Kansas Wesleyan and Cal Poly Pomona to 13 postseason tournament appearances and an overall career winning percentage of .750 as a collegiate head coach (265-78-25) … San Francisco State hired former Santa Rosa Junior College head coach Tracy Hamm as the new head women's soccer coach, succeeding Jack Hyde who had been at the helm of the program for the last 32 seasons. Hamm becomes only the second head coach in the program’s history … Kim Brandao was named the next head coach of the Green Bay women’s soccer program. Brandao most recently served as a top assistant at Buffalo from 2010-2014 … Reid Clewis was named head women’s soccer coach at Mount Olive. Clewis has served as assistant coach for eight of the past nine years.
Women’s soccer assistants – Sage hired Lauren Mackay as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program. She joins head coach Andrew Gamarra and in addition to her duties with the Gators, she is also a member of the admission’s office at Sage.
Strength and conditioning – Shenandoah named Brett Sabol head strength and conditioning coach. Sabol is the third head strength and conditioning coach in school history.
Women’s volleyball -- Henderson State hired Krisee Porter as the Reddies head volleyball coach. Porter spent the last year at Factory Athletics/Under Armour as Director of Volleyball Operations where she led the division's day-to-day operations, as well as traveling to many of Volleyball Factory's national tryout and player development events across the country where she evaluated talent and recruited players to attend Under Armour National Programs.

Assistant commissioners – The American Athletic Conference announced the promotion of Chuck Sullivan to assistant commissioner for communications.
Staff
Communications -- The College of Charleston announced the addition of Zachary Senvisky as an assistant director in communications. Senvisky will serve the department as the primary contact for the softball and swimming and diving programs, while assisting in the publicity and media distribution of all of the school’s 21 programs.
Deaths – Al Iriwn, a prominent figure in the development of the UC Irvine Athletics Department, passed away at the age of 96 on December 22. He coached the men’s swimming and diving team to the 1969 NCAA title and was an assistant coach for the men’s water polo team that won an NCAA title in 1970 at UC Irvine. He eventually became assistant athletic director at UCI. He retired in 1978. Irwin graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1937 as its first four-year, five-sport letterman. He worked his way through his undergraduate education at Pacific in Stockton, California, where he played football for legendary coach Amos Alonzo Stagg … Eastern Michigan women's basketball student-athlete Shannise Heady and fellow EMU student Jordan Hopkins died in an automobile accident in Ypsilanti Township. The accident occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.
