As part of the member-driven reforms to the infractions process, the Division I Committee on Infractions has established operating procedures that provide committee members and the NCAA membership with a roadmap for how it reviews and decides cases. Once housed in the NCAA rulebook as administrative rules, the operating procedures describe how the committee completes its work.
These procedures, authorized by membership rules and approved by the Division I Board of Directors, provide an explanation to member schools and involved individuals before and during a case. The procedures also provide the committee a formal, yet flexible, method for hearing cases and allow the committee to respond to issues that arise during resolution of alleged violations.
