DI Football Oversight Committee approves minimum game requirement for FCS championship

Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Division I Football Oversight Committee on Thursday approved a recommendation that Football Championship Subdivision teams must play a minimum of four games to be considered for at-large selection into the NCAA tournament bracket.

DI Council approves changes to FCS championship

The Division I Council adopted a playing and practice season model for schools that plan to participate in football in the spring. Members also approved a framework for the Division I Football Championship.

FCS championship will stay in Frisco through 2025, with option for 2026

The NCAA has agreed to a five-year extension with Frisco, Texas, to continue holding the Division I Football Championship title game at Toyota Stadium, hosted by the Southland Conference, the city of Frisco and Hunt Sports Ventures.

Cabinet modifies rating system in Football Championship Subdivision

The Division I Championships/Sports Management Cabinet at its meeting June 26-27 approved a change to the NCAA Simple Rating System that standardizes the number of games played in the Football Championship Subdivision.
