DISC Behavioral Assessment FAQs

Is there a cost to receive DISC Behavioral Assessments?

  • There is NO COST associated with receiving DISC Assessments.

How many DISC Assessments can each institution or conference office receive?

  • There is a maximum of 70 assessment that can be provided free of charge for student-athlete sessions and 30 for administrator/coach sessions per academic year.

Can I purchase more than 100 DISC Assessments?

  • No, at this time there is not an option to purchase additional assessments through this program.

Do I have to provide my own facilitator, or will the NCAA supply one?

  • The NCAA will provide you with a facilitator for your virtual session. Due to the utilization of a new DISC assessment provider, only NCAA trained facilitators who have graduated from the Effective Facilitation Workshop AND completed an additional NCAA DISC training this year, may conduct workshops. If you have interest in becoming a facilitator, please email disc@ncaa.org.

How do I request a facilitator?

  • An NCAA trained facilitator will be automatically assigned to your institution to facilitate your DISC workshop. You will receive information on who your facilitator is prior to the workshop date.

Can I do a virtual or in-person DISC session with my institution this academic year?

  • You can host either a virtual session with all participants tuning in remotely or an in-person session where participants are together in a central location. Please note, due to the impact of COVID-19, the DISC facilitator will be virtual whether your participants are remote or in-person.

How long are DISC Sessions?

  • DISC sessions run for approximately two hours.

What has changed with the NCAA’s DISC offering in the 2022-23 academic year?

  • For the 2022-23 academic year DISC Assessments are available at no cost for Division I, II and III. Additionally, DISC is being offered through a new provider - Profile, LLC., therefore the DISC assessment report will look different from previous years. Finally, all DISC facilitators will conduct workshops virtually this year.
