Appointment of Delegates (Voting and Speaking Rights)

How does an NCAA member school or conference appoint a delegate to vote or speak during a divisional business session?

Presidents, chancellors, directors of athletics and commissioners will receive emails in mid-November providing instructions to access the school- or conference-specific Appointment of Delegate Form.

Why doesn’t a name show up on the dropdown list for voting or speaking delegates?

All names are automatically transferred to the Appointment of Delegate system once those individuals register for the NCAA Convention. If a name does not appear in the dropdown list, that may mean the attendee either has not registered for the Convention or has selected conference affiliation instead of the employer during the registration process. Ask the individual to complete the registration or update the affiliation before trying again. If you continue to have issues, contact ncaaconvention@shortstravel.com.

Dress Code

What is the dress code?

Dress for the NCAA Convention is business casual.

Transportation

Will the NCAA provide transportation?

The NCAA will not provide transportation upon arrival in Phoenix. Convention attendees should secure their own reservations and are responsible for their own transportation costs to their designated hotel.

The NCAA will provide complimentary airport shuttles to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport upon conclusion of the business sessions Saturday only.

Programming

Where will Convention activities take place?

The Phoenix Convention Center will serve as the primary meeting space. The Hyatt Regency Phoenix and the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown will provide overflow meeting space and sleeping rooms for the Convention. The Renaissance Phoenix Downtown, Westin Phoenix Downtown, Hampton Inn and Suites Phoenix Downtown and Hilton Garden Inn Phoenix Downtown will provide sleeping rooms.

Technical Issues

How long do I have before the registration system times out?

Once you have accessed your registration, click on the confirmation page, then click on “resend confirmation.” If you do not have your confirmation code, please email ncaaconvention@shortstravel.com.

Why is my school not listed in the dropdown list?

  1. Please verify that you are registering under the correct division.
  2. If your school is in the process of reclassifying from one division to another, you will need to register under the division to which it is reclassifying.
  3. If you are still unable to locate your school in the dropdown list, contact ncaaconvention@shortstravel.com.
