Division III Strategic Planning and Finance Committee Duties and Responsibilities

COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES

NUMBER OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
including the vice chair of the Presidents Council; three additional members of the Presidents Council; the vice chair of the Management Council; three additional members of the Management Council; the chair of the Championships Committee; and two "at-large" members who do not serve on the Presidents Council, Management Council or Championships Committee.

GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
The committee shall review and make recommendations regarding all budgetary and fiscal policy requests forwarded by the Management Council.  The committee shall monitor and update the Division III Strategic Plan consistent with the Division III philosophy statement and the goals and objectives of the NCAA Strategic Plan.  The committee also shall monitor the administration of the annual budget and report to the Management Council and Presidents Council on a regular basis regarding that topic.

NUMBER OF IN-PERSON MEETINGS PER YEAR:
There are no standing in-person meetings.

NUMBER OF CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR:
The committee normally holds three calls per year.  One in the Fall to review the budget for the new year as well as any changes that have occurred and to review the expenses from the previous year, one in the spring to finalize the upcoming year’s budget, and one in the summer to review the results of all Division III strategic programs, including the specific task of reviewing strategic initiative conference grant requests.
