Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

Division I

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies. 

Submission deadline:  September 9, 2016:

  • The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division I Committee on Academics – staff contact:  Azure Davey .  The appointee will replace Renae Myles, Alabama A&M University, who resigned from the committee.  The appointee can be from any subdivision.  The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 12 Conference, Big East Conference, Big Sky Conference, Big West Conference,  Big Ten Conference, Colonial Athletic Association, Conference USA, Ivy League, Mid-American Conference, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Mountain West Conference, Ohio Valley Conference, Pac-12 Conference, Southeastern Conference, Southland Conference, West Coast Conference.

Submission deadline:  September 5, 2016:

Division I nominations must be submitted by a Division I conference. Contact your conference if you are interested in being considered for any Division I committee vacancy.

Division II

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies:

  • The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the an immediate vacancy on the Division II Championships Committee - staff contact:  Roberta PageThe appointee will replace B.J. Pumroy, Shepherd University, who resigned from the committee.  Preference will be given to individuals from the Atlantic region.  Preference will also be given to individuals with sport committee or regional advisory committee experience.

Submission deadline: September 2, 2016:

  • The NCAA is soliciting nominations for two immediate vacancies on the Division II Membership Committee - staff contact:  Katie Willett .  There are no restrictions on these appointments.  Preference will be given to individuals with extensive experience in the Division II governance structure and Division II membership

  • Division III Financial Aid Committee – staff contact:  Eric Hartung.  One vacancy.  The appointee must be male.  The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  American Southwest Conference, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference, Little East Conference, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, New England Small College Athletic Conference, Northwest Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference.
  • Division III Committee on Infractions – staff contact: Jim ElworthOne vacancy.  No restrictions.  The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  American Southwest Conference, Little East Conference, Northwest Conference.
  • Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee – staff contact:  Jeff MyersOne vacancy.  No restrictions.  The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, Capital Athletic Conference, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Midwest Conference, Northwest Conference, University Athletic Association.
  • Division III Management Council – staff contacts:  Dan Dutcher and Louise McClearySix vacancies.  Three must be directors of athletics or senior woman administrators.  Two must be females.  Per NCAA Bylaw 4.8.1, in addition to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representatives, only presidents or chancellors, athletics direct reports (non-presidents or chancellors with oversight of intercollegiate athletics), faculty athletics representatives, directors of athletics, senior woman administrators and conference representatives may serve on the on the Management Council.  The following conferences are currently represented on the Council and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  Centennial Conference, City University of New York Athletic Conference, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference, Liberty League, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, New England Collegiate Conference, New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, North Atlantic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Presidents’ Athletics Conference, Skyline Conference, Southern Athletic Association, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
  • Division III Membership Committee – staff contact:  Jay JonesTwo vacancies.  Both must be females.  One must be a conference representative.  The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: American Southwest Conference, Empire 8, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference, Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, USA South Athletic Conference.
  • Division III Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee – staff contact:  Stephanie Grace.  One vacancy.  The appointee must be an ethnic minority female.  The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State Collegiate Conference, New England Collegiate Athletic Conference, Northwest Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference.
  • Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee – staff contact:  Jay Jones.  Seven student-athlete representatives.  One appointee from each of the following conferences:  College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Great Northeast Athletic Conference, independent institutions, Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  In order for selections to be made, conferences should have at least three nominees -- one male, one female and one ethnic minority representing different sports. In order to maintain a balanced representation on the committee, it is recommended that you nominate sophomores or juniors. A list of conference nominees will be forwarded to the conference commissioner for review prior to selection by the Division III Nominating Committee.  Student-Athlete Advisory Committee members serve one three-year term and may serve one year beyond the end of his/her eligibility.
  • Division III Women's Basketball Committee - staff contact: Kelly Whitaker. One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Joeleen Akin, Agnes Scott College, who resigned from the committee. South region; coach or administrator.
  • Division III Rowing Committee - staff contact: Kelly Whitaker. One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Matthew Baumann, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Camden, who resigned from the committee. The appointee can be from any region except the New England region and must be an athletics administrator. The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Centennial Conference, Liberty League, New England Small College Athletic Conference, New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference, Northwest Conference.
