Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies:

Division I

Division I nominations must be submitted by a Division I conference. Contact your conference if you are interested in being considered for any Division I committee vacancy.

Deadline: Oct. 12, 2018

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the Division I Committee on Infractions – staff contacts: Shep Cooper and Matt Mikrut The committee is seeking nominations for staff members who can devote the necessary time and are within the categories identified in NCAA Bylaw 19.3.1.  Faculty athletic representatives, provosts or senior institutional student affairs administrators are particularly encouraged to apply, but any interested staff who meet the requirements identified in the legislation will be considered.

Deadline: Sep. 28, 2018

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Olympic Sports Liaison Committee – staff contact: Liz Suscha. The appointee will replace Wendy Bordeau, Dartmouth College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee can be from any subdivision. Preference will be given to individuals with Olympic or international sport experience; campus experience with one or more Olympic sports; campus experience with international student-athletes; work experience with national governing bodies and/or the USOC; or familiarity with NCAA amateurism regulations.

Deadline: Sep. 21, 2018

The NCAA is soliciting additional nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Committee on Women’s Athletics – staff contact: Amy Wilson. The appointee must be from the FCS. The Nominating Committee is seeking additional nominees to enhance diversity on the slate of nominees. Conference are encouraged to submit ethnic minority candidates. The NCAA is soliciting additional nominations for a September 1, 2018, vacancy on the Division I Infractions Appeals Committee – staff contact: Wendy Walters. The committee preference is for nominees who have of Juris Doctor (JD) and one of the following: (1) several years of experience in senior level athletics administration at a university or conference; (2) senior university administration experience with an interest and experience in intercollegiate athletics (e.g., president, provost, dean, etc.) as well as regulatory or judicial experience; or (3) university counsel with an interest and experience in intercollegiate athletics.

Division II

Deadline: Oct. 5, 2018

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division II Baseball Committee - staff contact: Eric Breece . The appointee will replace Jacob VanRyn, Northeast-10 Conference, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the East region (Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, East Coast Conference, Northeast-10 Conference) and can be a coach or administrator. Individuals with regional advisory committee (RAC) experience are encouraged to submit nominations for sports committees with RACs.

Division III

Deadline: Oct. 5, 2018

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division III Women's Basketball Committee - staff contact: Kelly Whitaker . The appointee will replace David Petroff, Edgewood College, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Central region and can be a coach or administrator. Eligible conferences: American Collegiate Athletic Association (Finlandia University and Mount Mary University), College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Midwest Conference, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association (University of Chicago and Washington University in St. Louis), and Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Eligible independent institution: Maranatha Baptist University. Individuals with regional advisory committee (RAC) experience are encouraged to submit nominations for sports committees with RACs.
