Participating Coach

ALL applications to request NCAA-certification of an event/league and ALL roster building will be done in a NEW technology platform in 2017.

DO NOT SUBMIT any information in the Basketball Certification System (BBCS) at this time!!!

The NEW BBCS will launch in late January or early February. Emails will be sent to all previous event coaches and event/league operators when the system is accessible.

NOTE: You will not be able to submit an event/league application nor create a team roster prior to obtaining your USA Basketball GOLD License. So, you should go to www.usab.com/NCAALicense and start that application right away. Obtaining your USAB Gold License now will enable you to access the BBCS as soon as it becomes available.

Before Participating

Before participating in an NCAA-certified event, all participating coaches will have to complete the NCAA-required background check and educational course. Additionally, the coach would need to be entered as a coach in the NCAA Basketball Certification System (BBCS); meaning that the coach either 1) created a roster in the BBCS, 2) was added to a roster an assistant coach in the BBCS, or 3) has been hired as a coach at an individual event.

Roster Submission in BBCS

The coach must either enter the team roster OR be listed as an assistant coach on a team roster in the BBCS. The roster MUST include all coaches and athletes with accurate contact information. The last step requires you to “opt in” to the events that the team will participate in to give that event operator access to the roster.

Confirmation - The NCAA does not approve teams, so you DO NOT get any kind of confirmation that the roster is entered correctly.

However, if you opted in to the events you plan to attend correctly, those operators will have access to your roster and can see your team information from the event’s review form.
