I grew up in Ohio, and I wanted to go away to school. I thought basketball was a good avenue for me to do that. I was recruited for three sports, but I went with basketball because of the opportunity to get a full scholarship.
Her students have called her a friend for life. An inspirational person who only saw the good in any situation. They talk about how she could light up a room with the amount of knowledge she had. Even though she taught in elementary school, her students have said she inspired them to become teachers when they got older.
The summer before her sophomore year at Seton Hall, Kayleigh Ellison suffered a seizure. The diagnosis: a brain tumor. After surgery, Ellison returned to school and earned her degree. But as she looked ahead to law school, she realized something was missing in her life.
