Athletics Program Intern | Charlotte Country Day School

The purpose of this experience is to augment formal classroom instruction, to experiment with theory and concepts, to utilize practical applications, and to begin the development of professional competency. Interns will work approximately 15-20 hours per week over the course of the spring sports season. Most work will be concentrated in the afternoon and evening hours; occasional weekend work will also be required. These internships are paid positions. Undergraduate and graduate students may also use the program for academic credit. ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS: The athletics program interns are responsible for all duties related to the administration of the athletics program as assigned by the director of athletics or other athletics program administrators. Interns’ primary responsibilities will be in the areas of event management, facilities management, and sports communications; additional projects will be dependent on program needs. Interns will be encouraged to develop at least one project that matches their area(s) of interest and expertise. Specific ongoing responsibilities include: •Assistance with on-site logistics management for athletics program events •Assistance with management of athletics program social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) •Assistance with management of athletics program audio and video platforms, including in-event audio, filming of competitions, filming/editing of feature videos, and livestreaming •Assistance with set-up, break-down, and ongoing maintenance of athletics facilities/equipment for home events QUALIFICATIONS: Successful candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program in sports management or a related field or have equivalent experience. Monmouth, Maine, Basics: Camp Cobbossee for Boys is looking for a Head of Basketball for our large sports program. Cobbossee has been in constant operation since 1902. It is the second-oldest summer camp in the nation, and has built a reputation on excellent coaching and sports programming, as well as the traditions and activities that make camp such an unusual and transformative experience. The Head of Basketball has responsibility for all aspects of our daily basketball developmental program, as well as administrative responsibility for our intramural basketball program and our matches with other camps and sports programs in the area. DATES: The Head of Basketball position begins June 6, 2021 and runs through August 15, 2021 Compensation: This position blends perfectly with an existing appointment as an assistant collegiate or head high school coach position, as our dates run June 6th to August 15th, 2021. Room and board, as well as travel allowance is provided as part of the position. Also included is a salary commensurate with experience. Salary runs from 3,500-4,500 depending on background and experience. If you have children, especially sons, we can offer them camp scholarships as well. CRUCIAL NOTE: Cobbossee will be operating this summer, in person, in the context of a pandemic. Your coaching and leadership skills will build basketball players, but also develop young people and your assistant coaches. You will certainly coach many matches.
