Athletic Directors -- Lynn University hired Devin Crosby as director of athletics for the NCAA Division II Fighting Knights. Previously, as deputy athletics director at Kent State, Crosby helped raise funds for scholarships and facilities, improved student attendance at games and increased the national profile of the athletics program … Don Lyle, director of athletics and chairman of the Department of Exercise Science and Athletics at Grove City College, will retire from the college at the conclusion of this academic year. Lyle is in his 13th year as athletic director and 19th year as department chair …  Angelo State announced the appointment of James Reid as interim athletic director for the university. Reid has led the men's and women's track and field programs since 1999 and has served as assistant athletic director since 2007… Chapman announced that current Associate Director of Athletics Terry Boesel has been named director of athletics. Boesel will succeed David Currey who announced his retirement in January, effective this summer… Patrick M. Kraft, who currently serves as Temple's deputy director of athletics, replaced Kevin Clark as athletic director. Kraft also served as the sport administrator for the Temple football program, which includes personnel, budgeting, student-athlete conduct and welfare, APR planning, game scheduling, academic monitoring, and student-athlete counseling … Trish O’Brien, who has served as Massachusetts Maritime’s assistant director of athletics for the past three years, was appointed as acting director of athletics. O’Brien will serve in the position until a permanent successor is hired to replace longtime Buccaneer Athletics Director Bob Corradi Rob Mallory, associate director of athletics at Quincy for the past four years, has been appointed director of athletics at Kentucky Wesleyan. Currently, Mallory oversees a comprehensive NCAA compliance program and management of all game operations … Emory announced the hiring of Michael Vienna as director of athletics.  Vienna comes to Emory from Salisbury (Maryland) where he has worked since 1989. 

Associate athletic directors -- Hartford hired Scott Dolch as senior associate athletics director for external relations. Dolch comes to Hartford after serving in the same position at UMass Lowell for the past two years.

Deputy athletic directors -- Marquette announced the addition of Brian Hardin as deputy athletic director. Hardin will be a member of the executive staff at Marquette and will oversee the department's marketing and ticketing units and serve as the primary contact with the M Club, which is comprised of the University's former student-athletes.

Assistant athletic directors --  Le Moyne announced that Steve Evans has been promoted to the administrative position of associate director of athletics. Evans amassed 210 victories, 151 of which came during Northeast-10 Conference play, and guided the Dolphins to the postseason 13 times, including two semifinal appearances and a championship game berth in 2009 … Longtime Iowa athletics official Fred Mims announced he will retire from the department effective June 30. Mims serves as an associate athletics director, a position he’s held for more than 25 years … Danny Vohden was promoted to assistant athletic director for communications and events at Stevens Institute of Technology after serving as the interim director since March. He successfully ran media operations for the 2015 NCAA Men's Volleyball National Championship in addition to running the communications and events for 10 spring sports.


Baseball --  Saint Rose announced  that Kyle Wilkins has been named the full-time head coach of the Golden Knights baseball team. Wilkins, who served as an assistant from 2012-14, is the fourth head coach in the program’s 36-year history.

Men’s Basketball— Ryan Odom was hired by Lenoir-Rhyne as their new men’s head basketball coach.  Odom is the 17th head coach in school history.

Men’s Basketball Assistants -- Dan Bozzelli, assistant men's basketball coach at University of Rochester (New York) for the last three seasons, has been named assistant men's basketball coach at DePauw.  Bozzelli replaces Brian Oilar who left in April to take the head coaching position at Otterbein … Florida Southern named Mike Makubika as an assistant basketball coach.  Makubika comes to Lakeland and the Moccasins from Southern Connecticut State where he spent the past five seasons (2010-15) as an assistant coach with the Owls.

Women’s Basketball -- McMurry hired Brittany Densman-Roes as the next head women’s basketball coach. Densman-Roes was formally an assistant coach for McMurry.

Football assistants -- Former Wayne State (Michigan) wide receivers coach E.J. Henderson recently returned to Paul Winters' staff after serving one year at Ohio Northern as the wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator. Henderson previously coached at WSU under Paul Winters from 2004-06.

Women’s Lacrosse assistants --  Natalie Bermudez has been named an assistant women's lacrosse coach at Felician. She and current head coach Angelica Gero were teammates as freshmen on the first team in GCU history in 2007, and were both Lion captains in 2010.

Men’s Soccer -- Hofstra men's soccer coach Richard Nuttall – the longest-tenured active coach in the university's department of athletics – has signed a multiyear contract extension.  Nuttall will be entering his 27th season at the helm in 2015, and has led his team to Colonial Athletic Association Tournament appearances in four of the last five seasons, including his most recent campaign in which the Pride finished in a three-way tie for the regular season title … Stockton named alumnus and Stockton Athletics Hall of Famer Greg Ruttler as its new men’s soccer coach. Ruttler moves up to the head coaching position after nine years as assistant and then associate head coach for the Ospreys.

Women’s Soccer -- Nick Brown has been hired as the new women’s soccer coach for Catawba. Brown, a former player for the Catawba men’s team, has been an assistant with the women’s program since 2010 and is the current head coach at Lake Norman High School … UTSA announced that Greg Sheen has been hired as head women’s soccer coach. Sheen, who becomes just the second coach in program history, was named interim coach on April 2, 2014. Sheen will enter his third season with the program after he spent the 2014 season as interim head coach and the 2013 campaign as an assistant.

Softball -- Assumption softball head coach Ralph DeLucia  retired from his position after 18 years as the program's head coach. DeLucia ends his career with a mark of 412-384-6 (.517), highlighted by his 400th career victory earlier this season vs. Stonehill.

Women’s Tennis -- New Jersey City announced the hiring of Gary Preston, Jr. as head women’s tennis coach. Preston, 28, has worked for nearly four years as a tennis instructor, youth and development trainer and a hitter at both the Manhattan Plaza Racquet Club and the Roosevelt Island Racquet Club in New York City.

Men’s Track and Field -- Carthage named Josh Henry men’s track and field coach. Henry, who also serves as Carthage's head men's cross country coach, was an assistant men's and women's cross country/track and field coach for five years at Cortland State from 2009 to 2013.

Men’s and Women’s Track and Field assistants -- Jeff Rebholz became the assistant coach for men’s and women’s track and field at Carthage. Rebholz was as a Carthage assistant for five years between 2010 and 2014, and was head coach in 2015 before relinquishing his duties to Henry.

Women’s volleyball --  Melissa Batie-Smoose has been named the new head coach of the volleyball program at Holy Cross. Batie-Smoose, who is the 10th head coach in program history, has over 20 years of collegiate coaching experience including in the Ivy League, ACC, SEC, Conference USA and Missouri Valley conferences. 


Doug Davis, strength coach at Purdue, passed away at age 33. Davis passed away following an illness. He earned his bachelor's degree from Ohio Dominican University in 2004 and his master's degree in exercise science from California University of Pennsylvania in 2009 … Former University of North Carolina men’s basketball coach Bill Guthridge passed away at 77 years old. Guthridge led the Tar Heels to two Final Fours in three years as head coach and was the consensus National Coach of the Year in 1998 … The Rev. John Lo Schiavo, who spent 14 years as president of the University of San Francisco, passed  away at the age of 90. Schiavo is most known when he took the rare step of suspending the men’s basketball program after repeated violations of National Collegiate Athletic Association rules. He was affiliated with the university, a Jesuit school, almost continuously for more than 60 years.

Athletic Directors -- Piedmont baseball Coach Jim Peeples has been named the new athletic director at the college, taking over from John Dzik, who announced in January that he would retire June 30 after 10 years in the AD position. Peeples, now in his 14th year as coach, also serves as associate athletic director for facilities. He will begin his new role as athletic director on July 1 and will continue as baseball coach … Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts announced that Laura Mooney, associate athletic director for administration at the SUNY Maritime, will become the institution’s new athletic director beginning April 6. Mooney succeeds Scott Nichols, who retired this winter as MCLA’s athletic director after nearly two decades of service … David Matlin is the new face of Hawaii athletics, hired as the athletic director on April 27. Matlin started as a business graduate student, later working his way up to the ticket office where he managed to double ticket sales … Dan Coonan announced that he is leaving Santa Clara to return to his hometown of Los Angeles and become the executive director of development for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles after serving 11 years as executive director of athletics and recreation. Coonan had responsibility for 350 student-athletes competing across 19 NCAA sports … Debbie Yow, athletic director at North Carolina State, will receive a contract extension. Yow’s contract was extended by two years, and runs through July 2019, and her annual salary will be $690,000 … Eric Sexton was named executive director of athletics for Wichita State. He was named athletic director in 2008, and his new duties now include responsibility for all student activities, residence halls, the Rhatigan Student Center, campus recreation, Student Health Services, diversity programs, counseling and testing, Child Development Center, dining services and numerous other operations … Deana Garner Smith has been named a senior associate athletics director and Senior Woman Administrator for Arizona State. Garner Smith comes to Arizona State with more than 15 years of experience in athletics administration at both the amateur and professional level … Scott Barnes has been named the new athletic director at Pittsburgh. He owns 26 years of administrative experience at the collegiate level and recently served as chair of the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee … Mike Alden has stepped down as Missouri’s athletic director. Alden held the second-longest tenure in school history. Former Houston athletic director Mack Rhoades will take over Alden’s post … Kansas State announced that athletic director John Currie has signed a restructured contract with an extension through the 2020 academic year. The agreement adds one year to Currie's current contract, securing his services through June 30, 2020 … James T. “Tommy” Bell will return to Southern Illinois-Carbondale as its new director of intercollegiate athletics. Bell, currently athletics director at Western Illinois, replaces Mario Moccia, who left the university to take the top athletics position at New Mexico State … UAB announced that Mark Ingram will be the institution's athletic director. Ingram, who will leave his position as associate vice president/executive senior associate athletics director at Temple to join the UAB Athletic Department, has successfully led athletic development offices at four Football Bowl Subdivision schools over the past decade … Deputy Director of Athletics Matt Tanney will take over as interim athletic director. Tanney replaces Tommy Bell, who resigned for the same position at Southern Illinois … Anderson announced that former longtime Clemson athletics administrator Bill D’Andrea has been named director of athletics for the Trojans. D’Andrea will replace Nancy Simpson, who is retiring later this month… Obadiah Simmons, Jr. was named the interim athletic director of intercollegiate athletics at Grambling State. He most recently served as the interim head and director of the department of kinesiology, sport and leisure studies and was the recipient of the Robert L. Piper Endowed Professorship in Health and Physical Education … New York Institute of Technology announced the appointment of Duane Bailey as its new director of intercollegiate athletics and recreation. Bailey is joining NYIT from Seton Hall, where he served as the deputy director of athletics for the past seven years … Gary Clark, the athletic director for Furman for the past 15 years, has decided to step down, and will remain at Furman for a period of time to assist in the transition. Clark is a 1974 Furman graduate … Longtime Associate Athletic Director Mike Wagner has been named to succeed retiring athletic director Dennie Bridges at Illinois Wesleyan. Wagner becomes only the third athletic director in the last 68 years ... Michael Williams has been named the fulltime director of athletics at California. Williams brings a comprehensive knowledge and a deep understanding of the university and its community through a range of perspectives, from a member of the wrestling team as an undergraduate to nearly 15 years of volunteer service … Saint Michael's announced that Chris Kenny was appointed the college's next director of athletics. Kenny ascends to the head of the department of athletics at a time when more than 20 percent of the college's 2,000-plus undergraduates are student-athletes. Saint Michael's offers 21 NCAA Division II varsity sports … New England announced the appointment of Jack McDonald to the position of associate vice president and director of athletics. McDonald comes to UNE from Quinnipiac, where he served as the Bobcats' director of athletics for 20 years.

Associate athletic directors – UMass Lowell announced the promotion of Sandra Niedergall to senior associate athletic director and Senior Women's Administrator. Niedergall replaces Tracy Ellis-Ward, who left her position to become the associate commissioner for women's basketball in the Big East Conference.

Assistant Athletic Director -- Central (Iowa) women’s golf coach, Tim Wilkinson, will become assistant AD for event management at the end of the academic year. Wilkinson is in his fifth year leading the women's golf program and will continue that role as well. He will coordinate event management for all home athletics events and will also manage facility scheduling for the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex … Oakland announced that Marshall Foley will join the Golden Grizzly staff as associate athletics director. Foley will focus on sport supervision for several sports and serve as the director of championships.


Men’s basketball -- Zach Pickelman was selected as the McMurry men’s basketball head coach. Pickelman is the 16th men’s basketball head coach in school history. Pickelman was a graduate assistant for the Cowboys from 2007-09 and the program’s assistant coach from 2009-2015 under Craig Carse … Lenoir-Rhyne announced the resignation of men’s basketball coach John Lentz. During his tenure, Lenoir-Rhyne captured eight South Atlantic Conference regular-season championships and four South Atlantic Conference Tournament titles and led the Bears to five trips to the NCAA Division II tournament. In addition, Lentz was named South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year six times … Florida Southern announced the hiring of the new men’s basketball head coach, Michael Donnelly. He currently holds the Southern Connecticut’s coaching all-time highest winning percentage (.664) and led the team to its first-ever Northeast-10 Conference regular season title, first-ever Northeast-10 Tournament title, and a spot in the Elite Eight for the second time in the program’s history.

Men’s basketball assistants – Drew Adams and Jimmie Foster have been named basketball assistant head coaches at Bradley. Adams, who played for Steve Alford during the 2006-07 season at Iowa, began his coaching career as a student assistant at Tennessee, helping the Volunteers to consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and the program’s first No. 1 national ranking. Foster was an assistant on Green Bay’s staff the last five years, following previous assistant coaching stints at North Dakota (2009-10) and Kirkwood Community College (2007-09) … Coppin State’s Elwyn McRoy has been promoted to associate head coach. McRoy will be involved with the day to day operations on and off the floor involving every aspect of the men's basketball program.

Women’s Basketball -- Lamar women’s basketball coach Robin Harmony signed a three-year contract extension that keeps her with the Lady Cardinals through the 2017-18 season. Harmony, who enters her third season at Lamar, guided the Lady Cardinals to a Southland Conference regular-season title and a berth in the WNIT … Francis Marion hired Jeri Porter as school’s new head coach for women’s basketball. Porter has 15 years’ experience as a collegiate head coach – 11 at the NCAA Division I level and four at the Division II level – and has recorded 208 wins. 

Women’s basketball assistants -- Cameron Sealey was added as an assistant coach at Georgia State. Sealey, 25, brings three years college coaching experience since being an all-conference basketball player. She spent the past two years at Division II USC-Aiken in the Peach Belt Conference.

Football assistants – Steve McNeely was appointed assistant football coach at Guilford. McNeely will coach the quarterbacks for head coach Chris Rusiewicz’s team. He replaces Chris Barnette ’07, who took the quarterbacks coaching post at North Carolina A&T State after seven seasons at Guilford.

Women’s Lacrosse -- Hofstra women's lacrosse coach Shannon Smith has signed a multi-year contract extension. During her tenure, Smith has guided the Pride to appearances in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship tournament in both completed seasons and led the Pride to an appearance in the CAA championship game in her first season at the helm.

Women’s volleyball assistants -- Patrick Sullivan is the newest addition to the Bradley volleyball program. Sullivan served as a volunteer assistant coach at Northern Iowa for the 2012 season and helped the Panthers to a second-place league finish in addition to the second round of the NCAA tournament.


Commissioners -- The Atlantic 10 Conference announced a contract extension for Commissioner Bernadette McGlade through 2021. The conference’s fifth commissioner, McGlade has demonstrated focused leadership guiding the league to unprecedented success and growth during her seven-year tenure.

Associate commissioners -- Tracy Ellis-Ward has been named the Big East Conference’s Associate Commissioner for Women’s Basketball. Ellis-Ward comes to the Big East from the Massachusetts-Lowell, most recently serving as Senior Associate Director of Athletics for internal operations and Senior Woman Administrator.

Chief financial officer -- Stacy Martin was hired as Chief Financial Officer of the American Athletic Conference, effective May 18. Martin is an accomplished administrator in intercollegiate athletics with extensive experience in business operations, fiscal analysis and planning, and budget management at major institutions.

Coordinator of men’s basketball officials – Atlantic Coast Conference Coordinator of Men’s Basketball Officials John Clougherty announced he will retire at the conclusion of the 2015-16 men’s basketball season following over 40 years of service to collegiate basketball. During his tenure on the court, he officiated 26 consecutive NCAA men’s basketball tournaments as well as 12 Final Fours, including four NCAA championship games.


Craig Mullins, who spent the past two football seasons as Morehead State's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, lost his battle with cancer on May 11. Mullins is survived by his wife, Heidi, and two sons, Cade and Coy. He had more than 20 years of coaching experience and joined the Morehead State staff prior to the 2013 season. Previously, he spent 16 years as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at NAIA member Georgetown (Kentucky), where he helped the Tigers to a 155-36 record (.812).
