Rider promoted Kevin Baggett from associate head coach to head men’s basketball coach. Baggett has been on Rider’s staff since the 2006-07 season and has served as associate head coach the last four years. He succeeds Tommy Dempsey, who left to become head coach at Binghamton.
Athletics directors – Shenandoah appointed Doug Zipp as its director of athletics. Zipp comes from Kenyon, where he was associate director of athletics for facilities and operations since 2005.
Baseball – Rich Maloney will not return next season as Michigan’s head baseball coach, a position he’s had for the last 10 seasons.
Men’s and women’s cross country and track and field – Newberry hired Kelly Revells as its new head men’s and women’s cross country coach. Revells already works at Newberry as an assistant wrestling coach, a role he will continue.
Women’s basketball assistants – Memphis added Erin Grant to its women’s basketball coaching staff as an assistant. Grant spent last season as an assistant at New Mexico.
Football – Western Connecticut State named Joe Loth head football coach.
Women’s gymnastics – Georgia hired Danna Durante as its head women’s gymnastics coach. Durante served as California’s head coach for the 2012 season and was an assistant at Nebraska since 2003 before that.
Men’s and women’s lacrosse – Boston College elevated Acacia Walker from associate head coach to head women’s lacrosse coach. Walker held her previous title since 2011.
Men’s and women’s swimming and diving – Marshall named Bill Tramel head women’s swimming and diving coach. Tramel spent the last eight years on Minnesota’s staff, the previous two as associate head coach.
Coker and Queens (North Carolina) will join the South Atlantic Conference effective July 1, 2013. The addition brings the conference’s membership up to 12.
Clarkson is adding softball as a NCAA sport to begin competition in the 2013-14 season.
The American Football Coaches Association tabbed Gary Darnell as its associate executive director. Darnell spent 37 years a college football coach for 11 different institutions.
