Teams participating in NCAA-certified events are required to provide, at minimum, the name, address and telephone number of each coach and athlete associated with the team. The contact information entered must meet all of the following requirements:
Must be specific to the athlete.
Must be the athlete's legal address.
The same address and telephone number cannot be provided for multiple athletes that are not part of the same family.
Addresses of relatives that are not parents cannot be utilized for any reason even if the athlete has a history of spending summers with that individual.
The coach's demographic information cannot be submitted in lieu of an athlete’s.
Post office boxes are only acceptable as a home address in very remote areas where home delivery is not available.
Addresses of relatives that are not parents cannot be utilized for any reason.
Failure to register a team in the BBCS or to submit all required information could result in the team being denied participation in all NCAA-certified events and it is the operator's discretion whether entry fees are refunded.
Failure to submit accurate information will prevent an event operator’s from accurately monitoring the application of the adjoining state requirements and could render an event ineligible for certification. If that occurs, coaches’ approvals for all coaches associated with the team/organization would be withdrawn and those coaches would be rendered ineligible to obtain a coaches’ approval in the future. The lack of a coaches’ approval prevent those individuals from participating in an NCAA-certified event. Please see: Adjoining State Policy for full details of the requirement.
The provision of false and/or misleading information in order to satisfy the NCAA's demographic, residency (adjoining state) or other legislated requirements will result in the withdrawal of the coaches' approvals for all coaches associated with the team/organization, which may result in the team's inability to participate in an NCAA-certified event. See: Provision of False and Misleading Information Policy (Page 8 of the Participant Approval Policy).
A section of the Basketball Certification website is dedicated to "Participating Team Coaches." You are encouraged to make yourself familiar with the information on this page and frequently visit it for updates as your team's compliance with this information will determine its eligibility to participate in NCAA-certified events.
