About Championships

The NCAA conducts 89 national championships in 23 sports. Competition is conducted in Divisions I, II and III, with 44 championships administered for women and 42 for men. Three are coed.

Statistics

The NCAA Statistics Staff is in its 75th year in existence.

The statistics staff serves all NCAA divisions of intercollegiate athletics and the Association overall by compiling, archiving and publicizing national statistics and records. To achieve and maintain excellence the statistics staff will:

  • Provide timely and updated sports information, statistics and records.
  • Maintain supportive and productive relationships with our internal and external constituencies.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that facilitate its mission.
  • Effectively partner with member sports information directors.

The staff keeps national statistics in the following sports:

The staff maintains championships statistics in all 23 sports the NCAA sponsors.
