WelcomeCFO Registration begins August 3rd College Football Officiating, LLC was formed in 2007 as the national leader for collegiate football officials. CFO’s mission is to accomplish consistent national application of NCAA playing rules and officiating mechanics through new and enhanced programs. CFO seeks to achieve across-the-board compliance with NCAA and Collegiate Commissioners Association rules and policies, helping officials to provide student-athletes, coaches and fans with the best football experience possible on game day. CFO’s goals can only be reached by providing officials with a central online hub containing the resources and technology necessary to improve on-field performance. The consolidation of these resources provides aspiring officials with a clearer picture of what it takes to officiate on the NCAA level. Accordingly, CFO has launched a dynamic, interactive website at CFO.ArbiterSports.com as an outlet for resources such as online testing, registration and career-enhancing content. Officials for the 2009 season will be registering with CFO, taking the NCAA rules test, and accessing pivotal information and correspondence on the new website. CFO anticipates that the website will facilitate achievement of our lofty goals. CFO is structured as follows: Board of Managers. The CFO is governed by a board of 15 managers, comprised of 11 representatives from the NCAA Division I Bowl Subdivision, two individuals from NCAA Division I Championship Subdivision conferences and two representatives appointed by NCAA President Myles Brand. In addition, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) has a representative in an ex-officio capacity. National Coordinator. David Parry, formerly the CCA’s national coordinator of football supervisors and coordinator of the football officials for the Big Ten Conference, has been named the first national coordinator for CFO with the following responsibilities:
Secretary-Rules Editor. Rogers Redding is the NCAA Football Rules Committee’s secretary-rules editor and also serves as the Southeastern Conference’s coordinator of officials. In his role with the NCAA, Redding is responsible for writing and updating the NCAA Football Rules and providing interpretations and guidance when needed. Redding was a long-time NCAA on-field official and recently retired from a distinguished career as a college professor and administrator.
