2009-10 marks the tenth year of the NCAA Division III initiatives program developed by the NCAA Division III Initiatives Task Force and extended by the NCAA Division III Management and Presidents Councils. All initiatives are monitored by the NCAA Division III Strategic Planning and Finance Committee. The initiatives continue to focus on allocation of resources to address key priorities identified in the Division III strategic plan: student-athlete well-being, diversity and gender equity, sportsmanship, membership education and communication. Programs also support the Division III philosophy, the preamble to which states:
Colleges and universities in Division III place highest priority on the overall quality of the educational
experience and on the successful completion of all students' academic programs. They seek to establish
and maintain an environment in which a student-athlete's athletics activities are conducted as an integral
part of the student-athlete's educational experience. They also seek to establish and maintain an
environment that values cultural diversity and gender equity among their student-athletes and athletics
staff.
Listed below are the Division III strategic Initiatives and key dates. Additional information about each program may be found by clicking on the program title.
