This web site provides resources for anyone interested in learning more about NCAA Gender Equity and the federal civil rights law known as Title IX and its implications for intercollegiate athletics. A 2007 membership survey revealed the following nine words most represented Title IX's impact on higher education: Opportunity, Equity Participation, Fairness, Access, Education, Dreams, Respect, Inclusion.
What does Title IX mean to you?
The NCAA has conducted a year-long conversation on the personal impact of Title IX. These testimonies are designed to highlight the truths and misconceptions about this ground-breaking and sometimes controversial law, which celebrated its 35th anniversary on June 23, 2007.
