Northeastern head track and field coach violates ethical conduct rules

A former Northeastern University head track and field coach violated NCAA ethical conduct rules and failed to promote an atmosphere for rules compliance, according to a decision issued by a NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions panel. Northeastern failed to monitor the conduct and administration of its men’s ice hockey program when three former coaches placed impermissible calls and sent impermissible texts to prospects.

PROP approves modification of impeding runner rule

The NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel during a conference call on Wednesday approved to add the word “Flagrantly” to the men’s and women’s track and field rules pertaining to when a competitor should be in violation of impeding a runner.

Track and Field Committee addresses event management concerns

The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Rules Committee at its meeting June 16-18 in Indianapolis emphasized that all running and field competitions should be conducted as written in the rules book starting in the 2014-15 academic year.
