NCAA names sportsmanship awardees

The NCAA Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct selected Bill Richards, head men’s tennis coach at Ball State University, as the recipient of the 2014-15 Bob Frederick Sportsmanship Award. This honor recognizes his demonstrated history of sportsmanship while leading the Cardinals.

Winfield reflects on College World Series

Dave Winfield, Major League Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2001, is the guest speaker for the opening ceremonies for the men’s College World Series today at T.D. Ameritrade Park Omaha, Nebraska. Winfield, who played both baseball and basketball at the University of Minnesota in the early 1970s, led the Gophers to their last College World Series appearance in 1973.
