Saint Leo University’s Maddie Holub will have a hard time topping her first year on the job. Holub, 25, was named the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Division II Assistant Coach of the Year in her debut season.

Ken Corigliano: Serving his country and getting down and dirty

Corigliano ran cross country at Saint Leo University from 2002-06.  He graduated magna cum laude from the institution in 2006 and now serves in the U.S. Air Force. In 2009, he was selected as the Chief of U.S. Official Government Travel Intelligence Operations for all official U.S. government international dignitary travel.

Making wishes come true

In February, the five NCAA schools that led the division in Make-A-Wish fundraising for the 2012-13 academic year hosted Wish “reveal parties,” in which recipients were invited to attend on-campus events before learning they would be getting their wishes.

U.S. Air Force Captain excelled in DII

After joining Saint Leo’s cross country team to help him pass a physical fitness test and advance his dream of becoming an Air Force officer, Kenneth Corigliano wound up embracing running, competing in triathlons and excelling in the classroom. In 2003, he was named the NCAA’s On-Campus Student-Athlete of the Year and was featured on Fox Sports.
