Division II Infractions Appeals Committee Duties & Responsibilities

COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR INDIVIDUALS INTERESTED IN POSSIBLY SERVING ON NCAA COMMITTEES
 

NUMBER OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

  • Consists of five members, as follows: One member of the Division II Management Council (term would coincide with Management Council term); one public member (three-year term; may be reappointed but cannot exceed nine years on the committee); and three additional individuals selected at large from the membership (three-year term; may be reappointed but cannot exceed nine years on the committee).

GENERAL DUTIES OF COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

  •  Infractions Appeals Committee shall hear and act upon appeals of the findings of major violations by the Committee on Infractions involving member institutions.

NUMBER OF IN-PERSON MEETINGS PER YEAR (include approximate dates and days away from office):

  •  Depends on the number of appeals that occur in the year.

NUMBER OF CONFERENCE CALLS PER YEAR (include the usual day of the week and average length of call):

  •  Depends on the number of appeals that occur in the year.

 OTHER COMMENTS:

  • This committee will include members who not only have experience with the administration of a Division II athletics programs, but also members that have experience with and/or understanding of administrative hearing processes and procedures.
