Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

Division I

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies. 

Submission deadline:  September 23, 2016:

  • The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a student-athlete representative for the Division I Women’s Basketball Competition Committee – staff contact:  Binh Nguyen.  Any subdivision.  Preferred characteristics:  highly recruited; athletics scholarship recipient or received athletics scholarship offer(s); major contributor, preferably starter; NCAA championship experience; underclassman.  [Please note that a new non-SAAC student-athlete nomination form is now active on the nomination site.  Please use that form to submit student-athlete nominations.]
  • Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee – staff contact:  Charnele KemperOne immediate vacancy for a non-voting men’s basketball student-athlete.  Any subdivision.  Preferred characteristics:  highly recruited; athletics scholarship recipient or received athletics scholarship offer(s); major contributor, preferably starter; NCAA championship experience; underclassman.  [Please note that a new non-SAAC student-athlete nomination form is now active on the nomination site.  Please use that form to submit student-athlete nominations.]
  • Division I Football Oversight Committee – staff  contact:  Kris RichardsonOne immediate vacancy for a non-voting football student-athlete.  FBS or FCS.  Preferred characteristics:  highly recruited; athletics scholarship recipient or received athletics scholarship offer(s); major contributor, preferably starter; NCAA championship experience; underclassman.  [Please note that a new non-SAAC student-athlete nomination form is now active on the nomination site.  Please use that form to submit student-athlete nominations.]
  • Division I Men’s Basketball Competition Committee – staff contact:  Charnele Kemper.    Ten vacancies on the newly-created Men’s Basketball Competition Committee.  The committee will report directly to the Division I Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee and act in an advisory capacity.  The committee will consist of 12 members, including two representatives from the Men’s Basketball Oversight Committee.  An overview of the committee’s duties, composition and preferred characteristics is attached.  Please review this document to assist you with identifying potential nominees.  Please note that conferences may submit more than one nomination provided the nominees have positional diversity.  For student-athlete nominations, please use the newly-created non-SAAC student-athlete nomination form.

Division I nominations must be submitted by a Division I conference. Contact your conference if you are interested in being considered for any Division I committee vacancy.

Division II

Division III

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the committee vacancies listed below.

Submission deadline:  October 7, 2016:

  • Division III Baseball Committee - staff contact:  J.P. Williams.  One vacancy.  The appointee will replace Jon Martin, Vassar College, who resigned from the committee.  The appointee must be from the New York region and can be a coach or administrator.
  • Men's Lacrosse Rules Committee- staff contact:  Ty Halpin.   One Division III vacancy.  The appointee will replace Brian Zusi, Rosemont College, who resigned from the committee.  The appointee can be a coach or administrator. The following conferences are currently, or were recently, represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference. Southern Athletic Association.
