Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

Division I

Due to the volume of vacancies (four immediate and four January 2015), the NCAA is soliciting additional nominations for theDivision I Initial-Eligibility Waivers Committee– staff contact:Doug Healey.

Specifically, the NCAA is seeking two campus administrators with experience supporting student-athletes witheducation-impacting disabilities(e.g., academic support services); two campus administrators with experience involvinginternationalstudent-athletes (e.g., academic evaluations, admissions); and four campus administrators with initial-eligibility certification experience for thecore courseandtranscript change/grade-point averagesubcommittees.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is September 19, 2014.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the newly created Division I Committee on Academics – staff contact: ​Azure Davey. At its August 7 meeting, as part of the new Division I structure, the Board of Directors approved the creation of the Committee on Academics, effective January 15, 2015. The Committee on Academics will assume the responsibilities of the Academics Cabinet and the Committee on Academic Performance. The committee will consist of 20 members as outlined in the attached document. In addition to the composition requirements, the attached document also contains information on the time commitment, duties and term information. You should review the information with your nominees so that they understand the time commitment prior to submitting the nominations. Since this committee has a number of positional requirements, each conference may submit a maximum of two nominees who hold different positions. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is September 26.

Division II

The NCAA is seeking nominations for immediate vacancies on the following committees. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 29, 2014. Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

  • Division II Wrestling Committee – staff contact:Ryan Tressel. The appointee must be from Super Region 3 (Central region) and can be a coach or administrator. The following institutions are eligible for consideration: Augustana College (South Dakota); University of Central Missouri; Lindenwood University; University of Mary; Maryville University of Saint Louis; McKendree University; Minnesota State University, Mankato; Minnesota State University Moorhead; Minot State University; Northern State University; Ouachita Baptist University; Southwest Minnesota State University; St. Cloud State University; Truman State University; and Upper Iowa University.
  • Division II Legislation Committee – staff contact: Amanda Conklin. One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Jill McCartney, Washburn University. There are no restrictions on this appointment. Committee preference: Individuals with compliance/legislative knowledge or background with a minimum three years’ experience in athletics administrators.
  • Division II Men’s Basketball Committee – staff contact: Donnie Wagner. One immediate vacancy. The appointee will replace Stan Wagnon, Lone Star Conference. The appointee must be from the South Central region and can be a coach or administrator.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a September 1, 2014, Division II vacancy on the Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules Committee – staff contact: Ty Halpin. The appointee may represent men’s or women’s ice hockey interests from institutions that sponsor Division II ice hockey; coach or administrator. Division III

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for vacancies on the following Grant Selection Committees. These service opportunities are on non-legislated selection groups. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 29, 2014. Nominations must be submitted through the committee nomination website using the login information below. Individuals selected for these positions serve one four-year term. The duties, responsibilities and time commitment for these selection groups are located on the grant’s website, linked below. The Division III Nominating Committee will make the selections for these positions in September.

  • Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant Selection Committee – staff contact: Sarah Sadowski. Two September 2014 vacancies. Preference will be given to nominees from Region 2 (New York, Pennsylvania) and Region 3 (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia). The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.
  • Division III Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Selection Committee – staff contact: Sarah Sadowski. Two September 2014 vacancies. One appointee must be a former hired employee, supervisor or mentor of hired employee that received a Strategic Alliance Matching Grant. Preference will be given to nominees from Region 1 (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont) and Region 2 (New York Pennsylvania). The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association.
