Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

Division I

Division I nominations must be submitted by a Division I conference. Contact your conference if you are interested in being considered for any Division I committee vacancy.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 26, 2016.

  • Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports – staff contact:  Mary Wilfert.  One September 1, 2016, vacancy.  Any subdivision.  The appointee must have a sport science research background (e.g., exercise science, sports medicine and/or public health).
  • Division I Football Oversight Committee – staff contact:   Kris Richardson. One immediate vacancy.  Coach or administrator.  Conferences are allowed to submit a nomination for an administrator and coach.  The following conferences are currently represented on the committee:  Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 12 Conference, Big South Conference, Big Sky Conference, Big Ten Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference, Pac-12 Conference, Patriot League, Sun Belt Conference.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a February 2016 vacancy on the Division I Infractions Appeals Committee – staff contact:  Wendy Walters. The appointee will replace Jack Friedenthal, George Washington University, who is retiring. The appointee must be from the FCS or Division I Subdivision. The deadline for submitting nominations is February 26, 2016. 

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a September 1, 2016, vacancy on the Playing Rules Oversight Panel – staff contact:  Dan Calandro. The appointee should have either officiating experience, previous service on a rules committee or a championships committee with responsibility for playing rules administration, or coaching experience. Any subdivision. The deadline for submitting nominations is March 4, 2016. 

Division II

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is February 26, 2016. We have recently launched the new online nomination form.  You can access the new nomination site here

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division II Men’s and Women’s Track and Field and Cross Country Committee – staff contact:  Morgan DeSpain. The appointee will replace Kimberly Miller, Shaw University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Atlantic region and can be a coach or administrator.  The deadline for submitting nomination materials is February 26, 2016. Nominations must be submitted here.

Division III

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a September 2016 vacancy on the Division III Men’s Soccer Committee – staff contact:  John Bugner. The appointee must be from the North region and can be a coach or administrator.  The deadline for submitting nomination materials is March 4, 2016.  Nominations must be submitted using the link below.
