Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies. Individuals with regional advisory committee (RAC) experience are encouraged to submit nominations for sports committees with RACs:

Division I

For information about the responsibilities of the committee, please contact the staff contact for each respective committee. For questions about the nomination process, please contact Jen Roe.

 

Division I nominations must be submitted by a Division I conference. Contact your conference if you are interested in being considered for any Division I committee vacancy.

 

Division II

Please note: This past spring, the NCAA Division II Management Council approved a change to the timeframe a nomination for a NCAA committee vacancy would stay active. Previously, the nomination would remain active for 18-months. New nominations will now remain active for one year. Any previous nominations that are in the system will expire based on their original submission dates.

Deadline September 23, 2020

  • Division III Management Council – staff contact: Louise McCleary. Additional nominees for the six January 2021 vacancies.  Three appointees must be female, and one must be male. One must be an ethnic minority. Two must be director of athletics and/or senior woman administrator.  Committee preference: previous NCAA committee experience. Per Bylaw 4.8.1 – Composition – The Management Council shall be comprised of chancellors or presidents, athletics direct reports (non-presidents or chancellors with oversight of intercollegiate athletics), faculty athletics representatives, directors of athletics, senior woman administrators, conference representatives and student-athletes from the Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. The following conferences are currently represented on the Council and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference, American Rivers Conference, Centennial Conference, City University of New York Athletic, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Great Northeast Conference, Liberty League, Little East Conference, Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference, New England Small College Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, Presidents’ Athletic Conference, Southern Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, University Athletic Conference, Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, USA South Athletic Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

  • Committee on Sportsmanship and Ethical Conduct – staff contact: Ben Brownlee. One immediate vacancy, replacing Brian Cavanaugh, who resigned from the committee. The following conference is already represented on the committee and therefore is not eligible for this vacancy: Ohio Athletic Conference.
