Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

Division I

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the newly created Division I Committee on Academics – staff contact: ​Azure Davey. At its August 7 meeting, as part of the new Division I structure, the Board of Directors approved the creation of the Committee on Academics, effective January 15, 2015. The Committee on Academics will assume the responsibilities of the Academics Cabinet and the Committee on Academic Performance. The committee will consist of 20 members as outlined in the attached document. In addition to the composition requirements, the attached document also contains information on the time commitment, duties and term information. You should review the information with your nominees so that they understand the time commitment prior to submitting the nominations. Since this committee has a number of positional requirements, each conference may submit a maximum of two nominees who hold different positions. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is September 26.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Honors Committee – staff contact:  Sharon Tufano.   The appointee will replace Bernadette Bartlett, formerly of Northeastern University.  The appointee must be from the Football Championship Subdivision.  The deadline for submitting nomination materials is October 17, 2014.  

Division II

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division II Women’s Lacrosse Committee – staff contact:  Morgan DeSpain.  The appointee will replace Kevin Huckel, Holy Family University, who resigned from the committee.  The appointee must be an administrator from the North regionThe deadline for submitting nomination materials is October 3, 2014.  Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II.

Division III

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division III Women’s Golf Committee – staff contact:  Nancy O'Hara.  The appointee will replace Joe Worlund, Washington University (MO), who resigned from the committee.  The appointee must be from the Central region.  The committee preference is for a coach.  The deadline for submitting nomination materials is October 24, 2014.  Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

  • Division III Management Council – staff contact:  Dan Dutcher and Louise McCleary.   One January 2015 vacancy.  The appointee must be an ethnic minority female.  The composition of the Management Council is restricted to ADs, SWAs, FARs, conference office administrators, athletics direct reports and chancellors or presidents.  The following conferences are either currently represented on, or have appointments pending for, the Council and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  American Southwest Conference, Centennial Conference, City University of New York Athletic Conference, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Landmark Conference, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, New England Collegiate Conference, New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, North Atlantic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, Old Dominion Athletic Conference, Presidents’ Athletics Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern Athletic Association, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference, USA South Athletic Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

  • Division III Women’s Lacrosse Committee – staff contact: Eva Folkert.   One immediate vacancy.  The appointee must be from the Mid-South; committee preference:  coach.  

  • Division III Women’s Rowing Committee – staff contact:  Kelly Shaul.   One immediate vacancy.  The appointee must be an athletics administrator from the Mid-Atlantic region.  Eligible institutions:  Bryn Mawr College; Franklin & Marshall College; Marietta College; North Park University; Richard Stockton College of New Jersey; Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Camden; Washington College (Maryland).
