Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies:

Division I

Deadline - June 3, 2019:

  • Division  I Women’s Basketball Oversight Committee – staff contact: Binh Nguyen. Immediate vacancy replacing Courtney Bangart, Princeton University. The appointee must be a head women’s basketball coach. The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and therefore are not eligible for consideration: Atlantic Coast Conference, Big East Conference, Conference USA, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, Missouri Valley Conference, Western Athletic Conference. Pending standing committee appointments may affect conference eligibility for this position.
  • Division I Women’s Basketball Competition Committee – staff contact: Danielle Walter. Immediate non-voting vacancy for a current women’s basketball official. Any subdivision. Current conference representation on the committee does not affect eligibility for non-voting members.
  • Division I Football Competition Committee – staff contact: Ty Halpin. One July 2019 vacancy. Non-voting faculty athletics representative. Any subdivision. Current conference representation on the committee does not affect eligibility for non-voting members.
  • Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports – staff contact: John Parsons. One September 1, 2019, vacancy. The appointee must be a physician (MD or DO) with demonstrated clinical experience providing mental health care services to college student-athletes in a collegiate health care setting. Board certification in psychiatry is strongly preferred.  Any subdivision.

Division I nominations must be submitted by a Division I conference. Contact your conference if you are interested in being considered for any Division I committee vacancy.

Division II

Division III

Deadline - May 24, 2019:

  • Immediate Division III vacancy on the Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules Committee – staff contact: Andy Supergan. The appointee will replace Mark Bolding, Norwich University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee can be a coach or administrator. The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Middle Atlantic Conferences, New England Small College Athletic Conference, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference.

Deadline - June 7, 2019:

  • Division III Women’s Tennis Committee – staff contact: Anjellica Rospond. Two vacancies, coach or administrator.  Atlantic South region (September) and Northeast region (Immediate); The appointee will replace Chris Colvin, Nichols College, who resigned from the committee; The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference; Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
  • NCAA Research Committee – staff contact:  Lydia Bell.  One immediate vacancy.  The appointee will replace Rebecca Kimball, Wellesley College, who resigned from the committee.
