Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

Division I

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies. The deadline for submitting the nomination materials is August 1, 2014.

Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee – staff contact: Kimberly Ford. One immediate vacancy. Chancellor or president; any subdivision.

Men’s Gymnastics Committee – staff contact: Connie Israel. Two September 2014 vacancies. Any division or subdivision. At least one appointee must be from the West region; the other can be from any region; coaches or administrators.

Men’s and Women’s Rifle Committee – staff contact: Chad Tolliver. One September 2014 vacancy. Any division or subdivision; coach or administrator.

Division I Men’s Soccer Committee – staff contact: Marie Scovron. Three September 2014 vacancies. The Championships/Sports Management Cabinet recently voted to approve a recommendation from the Men’s Soccer Committee to change some of the regional alignments. Due to these changes, we are soliciting nominations for the September vacancies. One appointee must be from the Northeast region (Patriot League, Northeast Conference and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Bill Wnek, Loyola University of Maryland, Patriot League, and Marshall Foley, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, are eligible for reappointment. Both conferences have held the positions since 2010. One appointee must be from the Midwest region (Big Ten Conference, Atlantic-10 Conference, Colonial Athletic Association). One appointee must be from the Far West region (Pac-12 Conference, Big West Conference, West Coast Conference). Two appointees must be from the FBS, one must be from the FCS or Division I Subdivision. Coaches or administrators.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey Rules Committee – staff contact: Ty Halpin. The appointee will replace Jim Fetter, St. Cloud State University, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be a women’s ice hockey coach and can be from any subdivision. The deadline for submitting nominations is August 8, 2014.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division I Progress Toward Degree Waiver Committee – staff contact:  Andy Louthain.  The appointee will replace Matthew Scally, Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus, who resigned from the committee.  Any subdivision.  There are no restrictions for this appointment.  The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 22, 2014.

Division II

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Men’s and Women’s Rifle Committee – staff contact: Chad Tolliver. One September 2014 vacancy. Any division or subdivision; coach or administrator.The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 1, 2014. Nominations must be submitted online using the login below.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division II Women’s Soccer Committee – staff contact: Molly Poitevint. The appointee will replace Patricia Hughes, University of Montevallo, who resigned from the committee. The appointee must be from the Southeast region; preference: administrator. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 22, 2014. Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a September 2014 vacancy on the Division II Wrestling Committee – staff contact:Ryan Tressel. The appointee must be from Super Region 3 (Central region) and can be a coach or administrator. The following institutions are eligible for consideration: Augustana College (South Dakota); University of Central Missouri; Lindenwood University; University of Mary; Maryville University of Saint Louis; McKendree University; Minnesota State University, Mankato; Minnesota State University Moorhead; Minot State University; Northern State University; Ouachita Baptist University; Southwest Minnesota State University; St. Cloud State University; Truman State University; and Upper Iowa University. Division II individuals may be nominated by peers. Self nominations also are accepted in Division II.

Division III

The NCAA is soliciting additional nominations for the following committee vacancies. The deadline for submitting nominations is August 1, 2014. Nominations must be submitted using the login information below.

Division III Management Council – staff contact: Dan Dutcher and Louise McCleary. Five vacancies. One must be a chancellor or president; one must be an FAR; one must be an athletics direct report; at least one must be an ethnic minority; at least three must be females. Management Council appointees must be chancellors or presidents; athletics direct reports, FARs, ADs, SWAs, or conference administrators. Division III Championships Committee – staff contact: Liz Suscha. Two vacancies. At least one must be a female; at least one must be from Region 1 (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont). The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, North Coast Athletic Conference, Presidents’ Athletic Conference.

Division III Financial Aid Committee – staff contact: Eric Hartung. Two vacancies. One must be a financial aid officer from a public institution; at least one must be an ethnic minority. The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Empire 8, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, New Jersey Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Infractions Appeals Committee – staff contact: Wendy Walters. One vacancy. No restrictions. The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: New England Collegiate Conference, University Athletic Association.

Division III Interpretations and Legislation Committee – staff contact: Jeff Myers. One vacancy. Must be male. Ethnic minorities and FARs are encouraged to submit nomination materials. The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Centennial Conference, Landmark Conference, , Midwest Conference, Northwest Conference, Upper Midwest Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Membership Committee – staff contact: Jay Jones. Two vacancies. One must be a FAR; at least one must be a female. The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: American Southwest Conference, College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, Colonial States Athletic Conference, Empire 8, Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Midwest Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

Division III Nominating Committee – staff contact: Sharon Tufano. Two vacancies. One must be a former NCAA officer or NCAA Management Council or Presidents Council member; at least one must be a female. The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference, Presidents’ Athletic Conference, St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference, USA South Athletic Conference.

Division III Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee—staff contact: Danielle Ghiloni. One vacancy. No restrictions. The following conferences are currently represented and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Colonial States Athletic Conference, Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference, Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a September 1, 2014, vacancy on the Division III Field Hockey Committee – staff contact:  Kelly Shaul.  The appointee must be from the Great Lakes region and may be a coach or administrator.  The North Coast Athletic Conference is currently represented on the committee and is therefore not eligible for consideration.  The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 8, 2014.  Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for vacancies on the following Grant Selection Committees. These service opportunities are on non-legislated selection groups. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is August 29, 2014. Nominations must be submitted through the committee nomination website using the login information below.  Individuals selected for these positions serve one four-year term. The duties, responsibilities and time commitment for these selection groups are located on the grant’s website, linked below. The Division III Nominating Committee will make the selections for these positions in September.

Division III Ethnic Minority and Women’s Internship Grant Selection Committee – staff contact: Sarah Sadowski. Two September 2014 vacancies.  Preference will be given to nominees from Region 2 (New York, Pennsylvania) and Region 3 (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia). The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Great Northeast Athletic Conference, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

Division III Strategic Alliance Matching Grant Selection Committee – staff contact: Sarah Sadowski. Two September 2014 vacancies.  One appointee must be a former hired employee, supervisor or mentor of hired employee that received a Strategic Alliance Matching Grant. Preference will be given to nominees from Region 1 (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Vermont) and Region 2 (New York Pennsylvania). The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration: Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, University Athletic Association.
