Committee Vacancies

Note: To be eligible to serve on a divisional cabinet or committee, or as a divisional representative on an Association-wide or common committee, an individual must be salaried on a regular basis by an institution or conference in the same division and perform a regular staff function representing at least 50 percent of the normal workload for a staff member at that institution or conference, unless otherwise specified.

Division I

Nominations are being accepted for September 2015 committee vacancies.  The vacancies are on the Division I governance committees, Division I positions on Association-wide governance committees, Divisions I sports committees, and Division I positions on National Collegiate sports and sports rules committees: 

  • Nomination deadline -- December 5. 
  • Most of the vacancies will be filled by April 2015.
  • A total of 92 potential appointments.
  • Nominations are accepted only from the 32 conferences represented in the governance structure (the conferences are listed in Constitution 4.2.1 of the 2014-15 Division I Manual).  Contact your conference office to submit a nomination.
  • Nominations remain active for one year.
  • Information will be forwarded to the Division I Administration Cabinet for its February 2015 meeting.

Division II

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division II Coaching Enhancement Grant Selection Committee – staff contact:  Sarah Sadowski.  This service opportunity is on non-legislated selection committee.  The individual selected for this position will serve one four-year term.  The duties, responsibilities and time commitment for this selection group is located on the grant’s website, linked above.  The Division II Nominating Committee will make the selection for this position.  Preference for the appointment will be given to nominees from Region 1 (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia or West Virginia).  The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Great Lake Valley Conference, Gulf South Conference, Lone Star Conference. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is December 5, 2014.  Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

  • Self-nominations and nominations by peers are accepted. 
  • Nominations remain active for 18 months. 
  • Slates will be forwarded to the Division II Nominating Committee for its January 2015 meeting.
  • Recommendations for sports committee and sports rules committee appointments will be forwarded to the Division II Championships Committee for approval. 
  • Recommendations for Association-wide and Division II governance committee appointments will be forwarded to the Management Council in April 2015 for approval.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for a March 2015 vacancy on the Division II Football Committee – staff contact: Donnie Wagner.  The appointee will replace Stan Williamson, University of West Alabama, who has been appointed to the Division II Management Council.  The appointee must be Super Region 2 (South and Southeast regions), and can be a coach or administrator.  The South Atlantic Conference is currently represented on the committee and is therefore not eligible for consideration. The deadline for submitting nomination materials is December 19, 2014.  Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

Division III

Nominations are being accepted for September 2015 committee vacancies.  The vacancies are Division III positions on Association-wide governance committees, positions on Division III sports committees, and Division III positions on National Collegiate sports and sports rules committees:

  • Nomination deadline -- December 5. 
  • Nominations must be completed using the login information below. 
  • Most vacancies will be filled by July 2015.
  • There are a total of 48 potential appointments.
  • Self-nominations and nominations by peers are accepted. 
  • Nominations remain active for two years. 
  • Slates will be forwarded to the Division III Nominating Committee for its March 2015 meeting.
  • Recommendations for sports committee and sports rules committee appointments will be forwarded to the Division III Championships Committee for approval. 
  • Recommendations for Association-wide governance committee appointments will be forwarded to the Management Council in July 2015 for approval.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for an immediate vacancy on the Division III Women’s Volleyball Committee – staff contact:  Jan Gentry.  The appointee will replace Mari Winter, formerly of the University of Redlands.  The appointee must be from the West region and can be a coach or administrator.  Individuals from institutions in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference are not eligible for consideration for this vacancy.  The deadline for submitting nomination materials is December 12, 2014.  Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

The NCAA is soliciting nominations for the following committee vacancies.  The deadline for submitting the nomination materials is December 19, 2014.  Nominations must be submitted online using the login information below.

  • Division III Financial Aid Committee – staff contact:  Eric Hartung.  Two January 2015 vacancies.  One appointee must be a financial aid officer from a public institution; one appointee must be an ethnic minority.  The following conferences are currently represented on the committee and are therefore not eligible for consideration:  American Southwest Conference, Commonwealth Coast Conference, Empire 8, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, New Jersey Athletic Conference, Ohio Athletic Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, State University of New York Athletic Conference, Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
  • Division III Women’s Golf Committee – staff contact:  Nancy O'Hara.   One immediate vacancy.  The appointee must be from the Central region;  preference:  coach.   
  • Division III Rowing Committee – staff contact:  Kelly Shaul.  One immediate vacancy.  Mid-Atlantic region; administrator.  The following institutions are eligible for consideration:  Bryn Mawr College; Franklin & Marshall College; Marietta College; North Park University; Richard Stockton College of New Jersey; Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Camden; Washington College (Maryland).
