"They definitely worried at first."

Golub began his football career as an offensive and defensive lineman in middle school, but soon realized that long snapping would be his only ticket to the college gridiron.

Football can be perilous, but Aaron Golub’s parents had more reason than most to be apprehensive when their son first slipped on a helmet in middle school: Golub has been legally blind since birth. Golub cannot see out of his right eye and has severely limited vision in his left, but he became a skilled long snapper in high school, garnering attention from several Division I teams. He accepted Tulane’s preferred walk-on offer and is joining the Green Wave this fall. As for his parents? “They ended up getting over it.”
