Presidents and chancellors

Garnett S. Stokes was appointed president at New Mexico. Stokes has been provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at Missouri since February 2015 and recently served as Missouri’s interim chancellor.

Associate athletics directors

Missouri Western State named Eric Kramer associate director of athletics for compliance and sports administration. Kramer has served as an academic advisor at the university since 2015 and previously worked in the athletics department.

Coaches

Men’s and women’s soccer

After 16 years as head coach of the Coe men’s program, Homer Screws is resigning. Screws was the head coach at Coe for two separate terms, first coaching from 1992 to 1998 and most recently taking over in 2007.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving

Jerod Simek was promoted to interim head coach for the men’s and women’s teams at Truman. Simek, a 2013 Truman grad, served as an assistant for the program for two years.

Beach volleyball and men’s and women’s volleyball

Linfield’s Shane Kimura, the longest-tenured active women’s volleyball coach in Division III, is retiring. Heading into his final weekend of 40 seasons of coaching, Kimura has a career record of 664-520.

Athletics directors

Brian Hardin was named Drake’s director of athletics and will join the Bulldogs staff Dec. 11. Hardin is currently a deputy director of athletics at Marquette, with prior experience at Ball State and Notre Dame ... Jeffrey Hathaway, vice president and director of athletics at Hofstra, will move on from his position at Hofstra, effective June 30. He is in his sixth year in the role … Kennesaw State named Milton Overton director of athletics. Overton spent the past two years as director of athletics at Florida A&M.

Associate athletics directors

Joe Fields was named associate athletics director for academic services at Texas A&M. Fields previously was director of academic services at Syracuse.

Coaches

Men’s and women’s lacrosse

Tricia Molfetta stepped down as head coach of the women’s team at Manhattanville to take over as head coach of the women’s team at Pace. Molfetta joined the Manhattanville staff as an assistant coach in 2015 and took over as head coach before the 2016 season … Ashland named Shaun Williamson to lead the women’s program, which will begin competition in spring 2019.

Williamson spent the past seven seasons as head coach at Berry, where he launched the program.

Men’s and women’s soccer

South Dakota relieved Mandy Green of her duties as head coach of the women’s team, effective immediately. She had been head coach for eight seasons … Crystal Dye resigned as head coach of the Findlay women’s team after seven years in the post. She plans to pursue other opportunities.

Men’s and women’s track and field assistants

Washington and Lee appointed Nicholas Green as men’s and women’s throws coach and strength and conditioning coach. Green previously was a graduate assistant coach from 2015 to 2017 at Heidelberg.

Deaths

David Blackstock, athletics director at Union (Tennessee) for 34 years and women’s basketball coach for 18 years, died Nov. 1 at age 75 after a lengthy illness. He also coached the women’s softball team for two seasons. Blackstock retired as athletics director in 2008, but stayed on at Union in a part-time capacity.

Presidents and chancellors

Wendy Wintersteen was named president of Iowa State. She will take office Nov. 20. Wintersteen has served as dean of Iowa State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences for 11 years. She also  is director of the Iowa Agriculture and Home Economics Experiment Station.

Associate athletics directors

Eastern Michigan promoted Dan McLean to senior associate athletics director for development. He joined the department four years ago … Iowa Wesleyan selected Derek Zander as its full-time athletics director. Zander has spent the past four months as interim athletics director.

Coaches

Baseball

Adam Skonieczki was hired as Southern Vermont’s head coach. He previously was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Buffalo.

Men’s basketball

Grinnell promoted David Arseneault Jr. to succeed his father, David Arseneault, who is retiring as men’s basketball and women’s golf coach. Arseneault Jr. officially will begin those duties in the summer. He is serving his second season as interim coach while his father is on sabbatical leave. He also has spent time as the Pioneer men’s and women’s assistant golf coach.

Men’s basketball assistants

Oklahoma State announced the hiring of Scott Sutton, the winningest coach in Oral Roberts history and a former Cowboy, as an assistant on the Cowboys staff. A veteran of 18 seasons as a head coach with 328 career victories, Sutton guided Oral Roberts to eight postseason appearances, including three NCAA tournament bids.

Football

Georgia Southern announced that head coach Tyson Summers has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately. A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately. In the interim, Georgia Southern appointed current Eagles assistant head coach Chad Lunsford to lead the program.

Rowing

Pacific hired Karolyn Milton as head coach. For the past four years, she has been the novice coach at Lewis & Clark.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving

Sioux Falls appointed Rita Koryukova as interim head coach of the women’s team for the remainder of the 2017-18 season. A three-time NCAA Division II national champion at Wingate,  Koryukova served as the graduate assistant coach for Sioux Falls during its inaugural season in 2016-17.

Beach volleyball and men’s and women’s volleyball

Jennifer Lopez was named head coach of the North Dakota State women’s team. Lopez has been interim head coach since May. She was the team’s assistant coach the previous two seasons.
