"I've become a different volleyball player."

Leger has her sights set on another goal: pursuing a career in sport psychology, allowing her to help others push through their own personal challenges.

Natalie Leger’s dream of playing collegiate volleyball took a hard hit her junior year of high school. As she yearned to catch the eyes of Division I coaches, the Woodmere, New York, native was instead forced to battle Hodgkins Lymphoma. But she wasn’t sidelined for long. The grit and determination that Leger used to overcome cancer, regain her strength, and, yes, even join the Division I team at George Washington as a freshman continues to drive her on the court. Now in her sophomore season, Leger welcomes the opportunity to mentor freshmen teammates. “Hopefully, I’ll be able to teach them they’re really stronger than they think they are.”
