The National Collegiate Athletic Association has brought the personality and excitement of college basketball to life through their official mascot, J.J. Jumper. J.J. Jumper joined the NCAA team during the 2000 NCAA men's and women's Final Four.

WHO:

J.J. Jumper is a fiery red-head whose passion for the game of basketball is contagious. With an all-heart attitude, J.J. is an inspiration to fans of all ages, especially kids. A team player with all the right moves on the court and in the classroom, J.J. is a rising star who dreams of playing in college and earning a degree.

WHY:

By creating additional entertainment value at NCAA Basketball games, J.J. Jumper captures the interest and imaginations of young fans. J.J. encourages kids to believe in themselves, get active, and embrace learning on the court and in the classroom.

According to national surveys, physical activity declines dramatically with age during adolescence. According to the U.S. Surgeon General, nearly half of young people aged 12 to 21 are not vigorously active on a regular basis.
