South Carolina men’s golf coach Bill McDonald reprimanded

Committee cites misconduct during 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships

The NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee has issued a public reprimand to South Carolina men’s golf head coach Bill McDonald after the coach’s misconduct during the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championships.

The committee cited McDonald for unprofessional behavior displayed toward an official during the 2019 championships conducted at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas in May.

“The committee was disappointed in the behavior demonstrated by coach McDonald at this year’s championships,” said Brad Hurlbut, chair of the Division I Men’s Golf Committee and director of athletics at Fairleigh Dickinson. “We will continue to hold our coaches and student-athletes accountable when good sportsmanship is not displayed.”
