Athletic directors -- Roderick Perry was named the director of athletics at IUPUI. Perry has served administrative posts at Wright State University, Ohio University, the University of Florida and Auburn University in a career that spans nearly 20 years … Holy Names University announced that Debbie Snell was named director of athletics. Snell arrived at HNU with her most recent experience serving as associate vice president for compliance and athletic programs at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee …  Robert Corran, associate vice president and director of Vermont athletics, announced he will be retiring effective June 30, 2016.  Corran has served his position at the university since 2003 … Theresa Hanson, who has held a leadership position within the athletics department at the University of British Columbia for more than a decade, was named senior director of athletics and recreation at Simon Fraser University. Hanson becomes the sixth athletics and recreation director in the history of the university … Paul Gavin, a fixture in the Mount Mercy athletic department for more than two decades, will be the next director of athletics at the university. Gavin graduated from Mount Mercy in 1988 and coached men's basketball for 23 seasons and men's golf coach for 19 years. He will relinquish all coaching duties after assuming his new role … Doug Jones was named interim athletic director at Tusculum College. Jones will continue to serve as the college’s head baseball coach, a position he has held since 1998 … Cheryl Aaron, associate director of athletics at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, was named director of athletics at Wentworth Institute of Technology … Kean named Jack McKiernan the new director of athletics and recreation. McKiernan has been at Kean since 2000 when he was hired as the sports information director. 

Associate athletics directors -- Fairfield announced that Marie Muhvic was named an associate director of athletics in addition to her current position as director of development for athletics and recreation. Muhvic will continue her role in advancement as the principal/major gifts officer for Fairfield’s 20 varsity and 18 club sports … Findlay announced the hiring of Lisa Liotta as the associate athletic director for student welfare. Liotta has been serving as the assistant athletic director for sport operations and student development at Lake Erie since 2011 … Dereck Whittenburg, a member of North Carolina State's 1983 national championship men's basketball team, accepted the position of associate athletic director for community relations and student support. Whittenburg, who has worked with the Wolfpack men's basketball program since the fall of 2013 as senior assistant to the head coach/director of player development, will develop and promote programming aimed to benefit current and former student-athletes, while also working to cultivate relationships with local and regional businesses regarding future employment opportunities for Wolfpack graduates.

Assistant athletic directors --  Concordia-St. Paul announced the hiring of Thomas Nyman as assistant athletic director for compliance. Nyman joins Concordia from the University of Virginia's College at Wise where he served as the Cavaliers first ever assistant AD for compliance for the past four years before earning a promotion to associate director of athletics for internal operations … Chaelim Choplosky was named the assistant director of athletics for Mansfield. Choplosky joined  the Mountaineer staff from Lock Haven University where he worked as a camps director in LHU Foundation from April 2014 to June 2015 before being promoted to director of athletic development operations and camps … Sara Williams was named the assistant athletic director for external operations at Rogers State where she will focus on the marketing and promotions. … Scott Slarks was named assistant athletic director for communications, where he will oversee the publicity efforts for the Rogers State Hillcats, including the official website … Texas A&M-Kingsville announced the hiring of Dennis Hawkins as the university's new assistant athletic director for financial operation. Hawkins joins the Javelina athletic staff after nearly two seasons as the financial analyst for the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Division of Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery ... Mykal Imbrock, formerly assistant facilities manager of the Kent State M.A.C. Center, was named interim assistant athletics director for facilities and operations … Jamie Gilliam was promoted to assistant athletic director of communications and broadcasting at Lipscomb. Having served as the director of athletic communications for the Bisons since 2012, Gilliam is responsible for the leadership, assignments and coverage of all 17 of Lipscomb’s  sports.

Staff

Athletic training -- Kenneth A. Woodard Jr. was named assistant athletics trainer at Lama. He will serve as trainer for the men’s basketball team … Jeff Paden brings a wealth of experience to Rogers State and will take over as the assistant athletic trainer. He spent the last four years working on the medical services team at Oklahoma Baptist University, while also serving as an instructor in the kinesiology and leisure studies department.

Leadership and development -- Former Appalachian State football standout DeAndre Presley will return to his alma mater as director of student-athlete leadership and development.

Athletics advancement -- Bringing a wealth of collegiate athletics experience nationally and in the state of Florida as a fundraiser and former athletics director,  Tom Scott was named FGCU's director of athletics advancement.

Business operations -- Dawn Tatro will take on an expanded role within the administration as the director of athletic business operations at Rogers State. In addition to her administrative support tasks, she will assist with all compliance matters related to NCAA, Heartland Conference and institutional rules.

Sports information -- Tim Hanson joined the Rogers State staff as the sports information director after having served in the same capacity at Newman University for the last three years.

Operations -- Sylvester “Vest” Johnson, 64, a staple of the Delaware athletics staff from 1976 until 1991 and a leader in the daily operations of the Bob Carpenter Center since 1992, announced his retirement effective at the end of the 2015-16 academic year. Over a four-decade career, Johnson established himself as a fixture in the history of UD Athletics.

Sports performance -- Will Hayes is the new director of sport performance at Wingate.

Sports nutrition -- Arkansas welcomed Karla Horsfall as the director of sports nutrition. Horsfall served as the sports nutrition coordinator at Wisconsin prior to joining the Razorbacks.

Conferences

Commissioners -- The Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association announced that Mike Hagen will be executive director. Hagen previously served as the associate commissioner for institutional services at the Atlantic Sun Conference … Conference USA has announced the selection of Judy MacLeod as the third Commissioner of Conference USA. With her appointment, she becomes the first female commissioner of a Football Bowl Subdivision athletics conference.

Assistant commissioners -- The Summit League announced the hiring of Ricky Babcock as assistant commissioner of sports and championships. Babcock comes to The Summit League after spending the last 18 months as assistant director of athletic facilities at Holy Cross.
