AFCA/NCAA 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute

The AFCA/NCAA 35 Under 35 Coaches Leadership Institute is a professional development and networking opportunity for football coaches held in conjunction with the American Football Coaches Association Convention. Formerly the Future Football Coaches Academy, this one-day event is designed to identify and train rising leaders in the game of football and the coaching profession, and will feature interactive lectures on topics that include ethics, leadership, NCAA rules, financial management, the coach hiring practice and student-athlete safety.

The NCAA will provide $1,000 stipends to 20 selected participants representing NCAA member schools. The funds are meant to assist with expenses for attending the AFCA Convention.

Any current and former NFL/NCAA football coaches who participated in NCAA leadership development programming are invited and encouraged to attend a networking opportunity during a viewing party for the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship on January 8, 2018, at the AFCA Convention.

All applicants must submit a resume, five references and a 1,600-word article on either offense, defense, special teams or postion specific. Submissions must be in PDF format.


To be eligible for one of the 20 NCAA stipends, applicants must have been born on or after Jan. 1, 1983, and be an NCAA full-time assistant or head coach at Divisions I, II or III.
