The administrative services interns are primarily responsible for assisting the finances and operations staff. Duties include: daily accounting; assist with reporting and analysis; and work with operations, revenue distributions, internal audit, information services, and human resources.

Interns who have worked in the administrative services have gone on to work in the NCAA administrative services and championships groups, public accounting, athletics business offices on campus, or obtained a certified public accountant license.

Intern Perspective

"As the finance and accounting intern, many of my duties include uploading journal entries into the accounting reporting system, assisting with employee purchasing card allocations, performing account reconciliations at month end, and recording received payments, such as membership dues, in the accounts receivable system. I have also been able to assist with championship finances in ways such as approving host expenses within the bid and profile system and helping to reallocate budgets for the upcoming year."

- Katelyn Fischer, 2018-19 administrative services intern

"As the administrative services rotational intern, I am gaining diversified knowledge and experience by working in six different areas within the department. This has given me the opportunity to interact and work with a lot of different NCAA staff members. Some of the work that I get to do includes performing financial audits of the Division I men’s basketball host sites, assisting the operations staff with the NCAA Convention and supporting the full-cycle recruitment process for the upcoming postgraduate internship cohort."
